Poor bedside manner, I'm more frustrated than ever
I recently visited Dr. Tamu Brown for a dermatological concern today and, unfortunately, left feeling very dissatisfied and was in tears before I reached my car. The time with her was only six minutes, I waited 3 weeks to see her after a referral from my PCP. During the appointment, I felt dismissed and unheard. There were no follow-up questions about related symptoms or deeper exploration of my concerns, and the issue was quickly deemed “not a medical problem”.As a patient, I believe it’s important to feel that your concerns are being taken seriously and thoroughly evaluated, which I did not experience during this visit. When my PCP was making the referral, he abstained from sending me to do bloodwork because he was sure the dermatologist would do so. However, Dr. Brown didn’t bother to ask about any other medical issues that may be the problem, much less order blood work. I would encourage Dr. Brown to approach patients with more empathy and engagement.

I saw Dr. Brown for a painful mole on my scalp. The front office staff was kind and efficient, I sat down in a waiting room chair and within 1 minute was called back and placed in an exam room. The back office staff was great as well. Dr. Brown came into the exam room within a few minutes and listened to my concerns and then evaluated the issue and discussed different options. She was fabulous and I will be scheduling a follow up with her in the future.

This was the absolute worst experience at a doctors office. I went to see Dr. Brown because of a skin condition that I have been suffering with for two years. Without letting me finish explaining everything I have already tried and things previous doctor's have diagnosed me with she took a look and within five seconds says, "oh, that is acne". No, it isn't. I have tried NUMEROUS acne medications on my skin and none work. I have been told by other doctors that what I have is not acne. She recommended we that we biopsy it so I agreed. She gave me a shot to numb and biopsies it ten seconds later without letting the numbing shot set in. She then says, "If it comes back as folliculitis that is acne." And I said "okay, I understand it is a FORM of acne but how can I treat it and why does it keep coming back?" She said, "There is no way to treat it. We can give you things to manage it but there is nothing that will get rid of it. Some people have Scoliosis and some people have skin problems,

This doctor is the most condescending doctor I have run into in my 60 years. She does not listen to her patient and told me to go see a plastic surgeon. I am not vain and want to fix something with surgery. I am trying to stop the progression of my issue. Just uncaring and rude.

Did not show any respect. Would just squint and do a childish voice at me when I questioned what she said.

She is the rudest doctor and has no compassion. I would advise anyone seeking a dermatologist to see another one in this practice. Don’t waste your time with Dr. Brown.

The worst experience, they just care about the payment and not the patient. Bills after bills for a 20 minutes visit. And she did not identify the issue that cost me to go to another doctor !

If it were possible I would actually give them negative stars, they are called a center for dermatalogic diseases; however, if you go there with a real disease they have absolutely no interest in treating it. They have no respect for their patients and are exceedingly rude and inconsiderate. For starters my apt was for 2:10 I showed up at 1:50 and signed in, filled out additional paperwork and sat down to wait, and wait, and wait. All in all I waited 45 minutes after my apt before being call

Dr. Brown was amazing. So many dermatologists are just focused on selling aesthetics. She did an incredibly thorough skin cancer screening with biopsies. She was informative and took the time to educate.

Rude doctor, did not treat me for anything I went to and still charged me the visit, provided zero explanations just referred me to a specialist. I think anyone can be a doctor if all is required is to refer people with skin problems somewhere else.
