Dr. Chavis was above all else very professional and responsive to my needs. I had surgery about 6 years ago and have only had problems with my back when I abuse myself by working incorrectly. She does have a very rough bedside manner, but makes up for it by providing excellent recommendations and her exceptional surgery skills. I would highly recommend her to others, just as I was recommended to her.

BEWARE!!!!!!Dr.Chavis has a problem, she has no bed side manners, she is blunt and very rude, I did not look at the reviews before I went to my appt, after leaving her office mad at myself for going to her, I looked at the reviews all the negatives reviews were on point, These people did not make up these reviews they are so true,I feel sorry for her, from what I read she is very smart, but she has a problem, I see why her office is dark and no customers, this was a bad choice on my side,

Bad mistake!Dr. entered exam. room, sat down & asked,"What can I do for you?".I was there to see what she knew she could for me; not, what I thought she could do for me. Dr. Chavis did not want to take my case because it was too difficult. She told me she had a small office with not much "noise" in it. She said she did not have much testing equipment.Dr. couldn't give me a name of another dr. to see;just "another neurosurgeon". Left office frustrated!

Went in for my 1st visit to get evaluated for an issue with my neck. She asked questions and immediately started getting me set up for surgery. A Dr. That actually cares about their patients is not easy to find these days. I WOULD highly recomed Dr chavis to anyone looking for a neurosurgeon.

I went to Dr. Chavis in 2015 for back pain. She looked at my MRI and explained what the test indicated. She gave me several options - medication being only one, the others were injection, physical therapy and surgery. I opted for the physical therapy and was able to wait a little over a year before now having to have surgery. Dr. Chavis and her staff are pleasant, yet professional. She asked questions for her clarification and allowed me to ask questions. I definitely would recommend her.

If you're overweight, don't go to her, it doesn't matter what your MRI shows, genetics is the reason we're overweight, she assumes you don't exercise and your diet is the reason you are having problems and you don't need surgery. Just lose 30 lbs, take glucosamine supplements and vitamins. No other recommendations. No physical therapy, no back brace support, even though I have had problems with my neck and back for 30 years, diet, exercise and supplements will relieve some of my symptoms .
