Rushed visit & doesn't answer questions
Rushed the visit. Did not answer any of my health questions. Lacks bedside manner. Could tell she just wanted me out the door. This is not what I want when it comes to an internal med physician. I would not recommend seeing her.

Dr. Carlin is ALWAYS in a rush. She is in a hurry; can't wait to move onto the next thing. (Her MA is wonderful though.) I give Dr Carlin the very basic update and move on. I tried changing doctors within the practice and its a problem apparently. I've stayed over the years because of history I have and it is a one-stop-shop for other services you can get done in the building. I've heard great things about all the other doctors they have.

Not engaged
I've been to Dr. Carlin multiple times and am always disappointed. Appointments are rushed and often I leave asking myself why I came in the first place. In one instance, I called the office to ask if something I was experiencing warranted a visit to which they consulted with her and answered yes. Then when I arrived and spoke with Dr. Carlin she couldn't have cared less and provided zero insight. In another instance, when I had a condition requiring immediate treatment, I couldn't be seen for a week. So very disappointing, but helpful to know I should be looking elsewhere.

I have seen Dr Carlin once. I received a thorough exam and she quickly detected what needed to be done for my health issues. She reviewed my Beaumont chart to determine what other doctors were doing for me, which left me knowing that I had a team working together for my benefit. She promptly called me with results and I have a follow up appointment after I have some necessary testing. The staff is very efficient and friendly.

Dr. Carlin's poor communication skills with myself and her own assistant, Barbara, have left me unsatisfied with my care. She spent half our initial encounter discussing her son's college plans and delayed putting in the order for a simple vitamin b12 injection over 3 weeks due to her poor management. Dr. Carlin communicated only through Barbara and refused to call me herself to address my concerns when I requested to speak to her. She stated i had to pay for an appt to do so.

My first appointment was thorough, informative and most of all friendly and very pleasant. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Since this was a first experience with Dr. Carlin and the Troy Internal Medicine office I had no idea what to expect. All in all it was a pleasant doctors visit. Dr. Carlin called & left a voice message regarding some test results before the end of the day of my visit. What a surprise. I do recommend Dr. Carlin and this medical practice.

It was my first visit. I got right in and didn't wait long to see her. She seemed to take her time and was very thorough. Ask me if I had any questions. Had an EKG - came right in with results. Had bloodwork done and SHE called me the next morning.
