Dr. Taj Kattapuram, MD

I have had breast cancer before, and the biopsy done years ago was very painful. This doc assured me she would give me a lot of numbing and give it time to take effect. The stinging from the injection was the only pain I had. I couldn't believe it. I was so happy! She listened and promised she would work with me. She is a gem!

I have a lot of medical problems, and having a breast problem was new. I always ask the staff if they like the doctor and every single one said she is amazing. It's true. She explained why I needed biopsy very well, and she also did the biopsy. Her interactions are kind and clear. I barely felt a thing. They accomadated my needs for mobility, and the doc says it couldn't have gone smoother. A wonderful experience at Gundersen.

Fast, to the point, all in one visit. Had my work and biopsy all in a row. The doctor and the technician were wonderful! Everyone here is kind and give lots of information. It was essentially painless, and communication was very clear. Highly recommend.

She was super gentle with me. Very transparent. I lost my mom to breast cancer and have other female relatives who are survivors. She explained that was factored into my "individualized" care and why biopsy is necessary. The procedure went smoothly, and she followed up with me personally. We need more doctors like her in this world. All the other staff was amazing too.

Every question I asked was answered with confidence and no hesitation. Dr. Katt is clearly an expert. I felt a lump in my armpit after my vaccine. It was an inflamed lymph node. She told me all the data on the vaccines, including exact percentages from the trials. She had no doubt my lymph node was not cancerous and said I didn't need follow-up unless something significantly changed. Very pleased with my experience.

I have been a patient, and I'm a member of her staff. When someone asks "who would you want to take care of you?" 100% of us would say Dr. K. She is intelligent, approachable, decisive, accurate, fast, responsive, all around amazing. I have personally experienced the care that I have witnessed her deliver countless times, and she. is. AWESOME. Ask anyone who is their favorite radiologist, the answer is Dr. K. And I'm not talking just about breast care. The IR techs, CT/MRI techs, NPs, RPAs, front desk staff, referring docs, etc. She is respectful and social with everyone. Hands down the best!

I'm transitioning and she was respectful about asking me my preferred pronouns and how I'd like to be addressed. She explained as much as she knew about what I could maybe expect with the future of my breast health. We need more welcoming and lovely people like her in healthcare!

I felt a lump and just knew it was cancer. I hadn't had a mammo in years and was feeling badly about myself. Dr. Taj was super nice and supportive, assuring me I'd receive prompt and prudent care. She listened to me, showed me the ultrasound, and explained her thought process and plan. She also had several surgeons she recommended. She did my biopsy and it was fast and almost painless.

Highly recommend Dr. Kattapuram! Had an excellent experience w/ biopsy. She is a great patient advocate. I was hesitant about the placing of a marker during biopsy and she was very honest with me about the importance of this as my lump was "suspicious". She immediately referred me to an excellent surgeon and by the time I called for an appointment she had already contacted the office with my biopsy information. I'm cancer free today & attribute a lot of this to her fast action. Thank You!!

Dr. Kattapuram is an incredibly competent and kind physician. Such a great combination. I've been getting my mammograms at Avista Hospital for many years now. Today was the first time I had to have a procedure done by one of the radiologists. She performed a very quick and skilled needle aspiration on a cyst she flagged on my mammogram. Zero problems. Dr. Kattapuram and all of the staff members I encountered last week and during today's procedure were top notch. Professional and kind.

I felt a lump in my breast and was due for screening. My PCP told me to get the screening study. The day of my appointment, the technologist said I should probably get a diagnostic study (didn't know there was a difference). I'm so glad I did. The radiologist saw a mass on the mammogram and saved me time and money by doing everything the same day. Luckily it was just a cyst, but I'm so thankful I didn't have to take time off work again or pay since my deductible renews next week.

When my doctor told me I needed a mammogram, it was a blow to my male ego. Dr. K was awesome though. She explained why it was a better study than a chest xray and talked to me in person about the findings. She spoke with honesty and clarity. She treated me like a regular human being. I hate seeing doctors, but this experience in a womens area wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. The technologist was awesome too. Really caring people at Avista.

I'm appalled to read negative reviews on Dr. K. She is the nicest, caring, most competent physician I have ever encountered. I sent my prior mammos and reports with no problems. Avista is an imaging referral center for my PCP, and Dr. K explained she can't access his notes outside the hospital system. She explained everything thoroughly with honesty and in a non-condescending manner. I'm guessing the last reviewer is taking her frustration with administrative issues out on the doc who is awesome

Ask why you are there 3x after apt mt was made by another Dr. for imaging to be sent back to that Dr. Says she doesnt have time to read charts Tells you in a very condescending way that ultra sound and mgrams do not cure cancer as if you thought they did. Instead of answering for the third time, I asked her to read the charts that all the info was there, but she explains condescendingly again, she is so busy she could not possibly read everyone's charts.I will never go back there again! rude

Dr. Kattapuram was wonderful. She was succinct in her description of the procedure and what to expect. She was kind, patient, and very communicative with me and with the women assisting her. She gave me a great deal of confidence in her abilities and made me as comfortable as possible given the invasive nature of my appointment.

Dr Kattapuram was awesome. She explained the findings on my mammogram and why a biopsy would be prudent. She did this in a very caring, calm non-alarmist manner. She took the time to answer all of my specific questions. When i had the biopsy the entire team was supportive, explaining what was happening along the way and making sure i was comfortable.Dr K. called me with results and again, took the time to answer all of my questions. So appreciate her technical expertise and communication style!
