First visit was in person. Had to wait close to 30 minutes past scheduled appointment time. After this visit all telehealth, he was almost always late to those (90%) and by 30 mins plus. Always late in the evening for my under 12 year old (after 7pm). The office would schedule the appointments without asking or confirming if it was okay. He didn't pay attention to details about why we were seeing him (essentially medication management). Didn't listen or take notes it seemed. Would schedule 'visits' every 3 weeks when our previous doctor would schedule it for every 3 months. Ended up leaving his practice after miscommunication and he raised his voice to me on the phone and talked to me (parent) like I was incompetent. Staff not very helpful with appointment or getting in touch. Also, good luck getting your medications on time before you run out. Would give 0 stars.

You will only meet in the office for the first one or two visits. All sessions after that will be by phone. If you pay by credit or debit card, you will be charged an additional $2 fee. Not sure how else you can pay for telephone sessions. Whenever you call, 24-7, you will get an answering machine. Return phone calls from the doc typically take 3-5 days. After about a year, we sought a 2nd opinion. 1 different med was suggested and the med from Dr. Alam was suggested at a lower dose. We tried the new meds but decided in 2-3 days that we would not continue with them and decided to stay with Dr. Alam and his treatment. When he found out, he refused to refill my son's medication for 2 weeks, until the med at the lower dose ran out even though it was half the normal dose. We waited the 2 weeks and called him bc the pharmacy did not receive the new script. After several phone calls and a 4 day wait, he called and left a message saying we should find another psychiatrist. NO refill.
