Dr. Suzan Zimmer, DO

Dr. Zimmer is the most competent, professional and personable doctor! She really cares about her patients and takes a genuine interest in you and your care plan. She regulated my husband’s ongoing high blood pressure problem when his other doctor could not. He just kept upping the dosage of the same medicines, while Dr. Zimmer tried one protocol, then another, until finally we found the medicines that worked for him. When I was diagnosed with HR+HER2+ ductal carcinoma in September last year, she knew that I was resisting chemo, but she wouldn’t have it! She spoke with my oncologist and my breast surgeon and then she called me after hours and BEGGED me to listen to the oncologist and “just do the damn chemo!” and have the double mastectomies which followed. And of course, as always, she was right. If she hadn’t called me that night, I might have been foolish enough to delay the start of treatments that have most likely saved my life! (Fingers crossed!) I trust her implicitly!

First-rate and very thorough care, covers all areas of concern and gives timely information on how to maintain/improve health and what to pay attention to for better health.

Excellent. Have been with my doctor for years and in three practice locations. If you need a doc for managing regular, routine physical wellness or referrals you'll do well here. Dr Z knows her way around the business, her opinion can be trusted, and she's not one to sugarcoat a problem.

Staff and PA was very courteous and helpful. Doctor was very unprofessional. Walked in the room, never introduced herself. Looked at my chart, never looked at me or my hand and misdiagnosed a tumor as just swelling. Handed the chart to the PA and walked out as the PA and I just sat there looking at each other awkwardly.

Dr. Zimmer is a well-known and well-respected Internal Medicine Doctor who's been practicing for decades in Fort Pierce. As a patient, she is very direct with you, and I find it refreshing. Dr. Zimmer is now working as the medical director of Midway Primary Care, a not-for-profit clinic, which shows she cares about her patients, and not the business of medicine. The new office on US 1 is really nice!

The office closes early regularly. After waiting from Thursday until Monday when her office reopened, I was told she couldn't see me for another 9 days. I found another doctor who diagnosed me with bronchitis & possible strep. Zimmer's office told me to go the ER. She was my primary & this was not the first time this happened. DO NOT SEE HER!!

she is a horrable women as said below she dont listen when you say medication side effects. bedside manner boooo. yelled at my daughter when asked a question about my care. said i need a surgon but couldnt find one for a tumor i have needing biopsy and sends me home to have my children deal with it. she needs to resign

Dr. Zimmer has a large ego and does not listen to her patients. When asked why she prescribed a certain medication her response was because I said so. I also believe that her prescribing a medication even though we told her about the side effects it was causing caused serious side effects. She was the treating physician at Lawnwood Medical center- we will not follow up with her and find a new doctor.

Her bedside manner is terrible!!!
