Miracle Worker
Dr. Mehra and the other doctors in his practice (Dr. Steinberg and Dr. Kase) quite literally saved my unborn daughter's life. We went in on a Monday to hear she had something called Hydrops which Google told me had something like a 5% chance of survival. By Tuesday afternoon my wife was admitted and on Wednesday Dr. Mehra and Dr. Kase, through their miraculous expertise and care performed an intrauterine blood transfusion - that's a blood transfusion for 21 week old baby, that is still inside the mother, through the umbilical cord. Literally saving her life. Every day I get to share with my daughter after she is born I will think of them and be overwhelmed with gratitude. Because of them a little girl will be born and have a full life who otherwise wouldnt. And through it all he was calm, confident, kind, and kept us informed. We couldn't have felt like we were receiving better care.

A Most Remarkable Doctor and Human Being
As a retired HR professional, I have spent the past 40 years working to identify and place the most talented and skilled employees into a variety of positions. In the world of high-risk obstetrics and gynecology, it would be impossible to find a practitioner more suited to his chosen line of work than Dr. Suwan Mehra. Our daughter was referred to Dr. Mehra by another distinguished group of care providers when her baby developed a severe case of Hydrops at 27 weeks due to an underlying condition of Noonan’s Syndrome. Dr. Mehra was a gift to our family at a time when he was most needed. His authentic compassion, dedication and selflessness shown to our daughter, her unborn child, and the entire family, paired with his top-notch medical expertise related to her and the baby’s specific condition were unsurpassable. At a time of profound sadness and loss, Dr. Mehra was the grace we needed, and we will be eternally grateful to him.

HIGHLY recommend!
I can't say enough good things about Dr. Mehra. He is truly amazing. He delivered my first baby 4 1/2 years ago when my water broke early at 27 weeks, so I didn't hesitate this time around asking him to be my MFM doctor for my second pregnancy. He is VERY patient and trustworthy. I tend to ask many questions and he always took the time to answer every one. He is one of those doctors that you just know you can trust. Very intelligent and you can tell he cares about his patients. He was also very reassuring when I needed it. He managed to get me to full term for this second pregnancy and I couldn't be more grateful. I would absolutely recommend him without a doubt.

Being referred to Dr. Mehra has been by far one of the biggest blessings to me in my pregnancy with twins. I’m so glad I chose him over traveling to a different state for a minimally invasive procedure. I would not have wanted to be in any body else’s care, but his. His bed side manner, education, knowledge and the dedication that he puts into his career definitely does not go unnoticed. He truly puts his heart and soul into everything he says and does and that I’m just forever thankful for. Words will never be enough, to thank him. Coming from my Husband and I, he deserves more than 5 golden stars.

Dr. Mehra is the best doctor I've ever seen in my life. He saw me through my high-risk mono-di twin pregnancy and delivered our boys over a year ago. He is extremely knowledgable, is one of the most skilled surgeons in the Midwest if (God forbid) you need fetal surgery, and he truly listens to the patient and asks important follow-up questions rather than rushing through the appointment or jumping to most obvious/likely conclusion. He follows up with his patients personally, sometimes calling them at home on the weekend to check in. He is uncommonly kind, in a way that stays with you for years and years. I don't think my husband and I will ever forget him. If you get referred to Dr. Mehra, I know it can be scary to think your baby and you need a higher level of care than your average pregnancy requires, but please know that you are in the most capable and genuinely caring hands possible.

Unfortunately, my husband & I went through a pretty traumatic experience with our first pregnancy. We only made it through with the support of our families and the excellent care we received from Dr Mehra & his amazing staff. Dr Mehra is not only very competent, professional and knowledgeable but just as important, he’s very kind, personable and compassionate. I always felt comfortable and confident in his care. I highly recommend him and look forward to using his services again in the future.

Dr. Mehra is professional, informative, but open. It is not often you find doctors like him. He helped me through a very difficult pregnancy with no judgement or bias. Whenever I needed to ask him a question he was always on top of things. Lutheran is lucky to have a doctor on staff that cares as much as he does.
