At a loss for words
Completely ignored my concerns about pain, swelling and shortness of breath and disregarded my bp readings which were on the higher side at each appointment. I'm so glad I trusted my gut and went to the ER where they confirmed I had preeclampsia and had to deliver my baby that night. She was not there at all during delivery nor was she at any of the follow up appointments. Every concern I had was pushed on to my primary care physician and even he mentioned how odd that was. This was my first child and she put us both at risk because of her dismissing behavior. I wish I could give 0 stars. I ended up switching practices and I am so happy I did. I got the care I needed and deserved! I absolutely would not recommend her to anyone. Especially considering how terrible of an experience I had a terrible experience

Honestly as far as I’m concerned, I will always blame her for my baby’s death. His heart wasn’t beating when we went in to an appointment and she found it, to later us going to the er that night to find out our baby hasn’t had a heartbeat and it was MY heartbeat she found. He was already gone that whole day. Which means to me she was rushing and being negligent. 25 weeks into the pregnancy we were told by nurse practitioners and ultrasound techs he was a big, she however, said he was normal size during the later months- he was a 10 pound baby! She was barely at any appts., unprofessional by being late, and just seemed to rush. She wasn’t even the one to deliver the baby, the doctor that did told me I should’ve had a c-section, due to his size and how my body is, his shoulders ended up getting stuck during delivery. This was our first baby after two miscarriages, I was hoping for better, more thorough treatment. I know mistakes happen, but this was our babies life.

I started my second pregnancy care with her at Spectrum, before I had to switch to Metro due to insurance changes (where she is now, and it's a great place to deliver!) and she was absolutely amazing. She deeply cared for my concerns and questions and is such a sweetheart. She went above and beyond to check into things I had worries about, without me having to push for it. Highly recommend her!

So I left a review about a year ago and I couldn’t figure out a way to update it. For that reason, I’m leaving a new review since my opinion of Dr. VandenBosch has changed for the better. Basically, at first I thought I had a negative experience but that was just due to a miscommunication that was easily cleared up. Even the best doctors have bad days every now and then and I honestly think I just perceived Dr. VandenBosch the wrong way. I say that because every subsequent visit I have had since the original review was overall a good experience. I felt listened to, respected and was given the opportunity to ask questions. She was even willing to share her own experiences with me (I didn’t even ask her to!) in an effort to empathize about a concern I had. I also appreciate the fact that she doesn’t do any unnecessary exams or tests and throughly explains the reasoning behind anything she does.

Oh my gosh, I literally can't say enough good things about Dr. Vanden Bosch! I unfortunately had a miscarriage and she turned this awful experience into something beautiful. She is the most compassionate and caring human being and I am so blessed to have her as a doctor. She cares about you a person, not just a patient. She will take the time to answer all your questions and won't rush you out. Truly, she is the best!!!!!!!

My first birth experience with another OB left me traumatized and discouraged about my hopes of a unmedicated vbac. I switched late in my second pregnancy to Dr. VandenBosch and immediately felt a huge relief as my hopes (because you never really know what labor will throw at you) were listened to and respected. She was honest about the reality of the situation but flexible to allow me to labor the way I wanted to (within reason). She was helpful, supportive, and encouraging!
