Saw Dr. Tan as she specializes in pediatrics & ENT’s shared my nose was small & they weren’t comfortable performing surgery. I was elated to finally be getting my deviated septum fixed & to have a “functional rhinoplasty” (covered by insurance)to help w/my nose breathing function. Surgery date: June 2016. For many months, I didn’t feel any benefits & my nose appeared drastically different. Dr. Tan advised nose would settle over time. I followed up w/all appointments, including one year later. I shared that I still was not feeling relief. She shared that I had “nasal valve collapse.” During the surgery, cartilage had been taken from the septum for nasal valve support. From my own research, I learned cartilage should be taken from the ear/ribs for nasal valves. Dr. Tan recommended “nasal cones”. Initially, Dr. Tan seemed knowledgeable and I was confident she could help me. In the end, I will need to have surgery AGAIN at some point. I am worse off than before.

Ive seen Dr Tan once so far and my impression is that she’s a doctor I can trust. She listened intently regarding my situation and treated me immediately. Her doctor patient relation is admirable, and she showed me how she cared. Her 2 office staff were also very helpful, and displayed an interest in patient care. I felt very comfortable in their office.

I had my first appointment with the doctor today. She was so kind and thoroughly explained the surgery I would need, and was honest enough to admit that although she is capable of doing the complex surgery, she thought it best to refer me to one or two other physicians who have had more experience with this type of operation. She was great.

Dr. Tan is a caring, gentle surgeon with really good hands. She performed surgery to correct damage to my nose and nasal septum following a surfing injury. Surgery went quickly, was painless, and recovery was quick thanks to her excellent work. She is an amazing doctor! Her staff is very nice too. Melanie always has a smile on her face and goes the extra mile with scheduling.

Dr. Susan Tan is an excellent Doctor. She has great communication skills, has excellent bedside manner, and is a skilled surgeon. She always returns calls in a timely manner and is always so pleasant. My son recently had a tonsillectomy and had his adenoids removed, and he healed nicely from the procedures. I would highly recommend her.
