Dr. Susan Liu, MD

I respect doctors who find ways to serve their patients despite the perverse incentives woven into the system that employs them. It may be mission impossible, but they at least try, and in some limited ways, they may succeed. Susan Liu must have given up this fight a long time ago, if she ever even tried to be a real doctor. Instead, she became a sincere apologist for the pathocracy of the health insurance industry. Instead of a doctor, I felt I met with a PR executive for Aetna or Medicaid. Indeed, PR may be a better career for Susan.After the appointment, I sent her a message with feedback. Predictably, she responded with the I'm-sorry-you-felt-that-way-but, yadda, yadda. The message had as much credibility as the pre-recorded assurance that 'Your call is important to us.' It's much easier to convince a doctor to sell out than to make her realize that she has sold out. She really doesn't see it.

Complete waste of my time and money. I had previously gone to urgent care and was told to go to an orthopedic. She didn't take new x-rays and didn't review my old ones. I waited over an hour to be seen as she looked at my ankle for maybe 30 seconds and told me "I needed to go to a foot and ankle specialist."
