Judgy
We have all the love for this practice, but we avoid Dr. Bishop if at all possible. Many years ago she made me cry for asking questions about my newborn's jaundice as we were getting discharged from the hospital. It hasn't gotten any better. An experienced mom now, but I still seek the support of caring, knowledgeable providers. We should not be made to feel judged or like we're inconveniencing her by asking questions, calling on- call, etc. My now teenager has also started asking if we have to see her when we go for sick visits because she makes her feel uncomfortable.

Clearly does not care to take care of children
This pediatrician clearly has no patience for working with children. She should’ve gone into a different specialty. We were there for a sick visit. At the Valpo office my kid will often grab a glove to make a balloon animal, draw a picture on the notepad for the doctors, and look around. The doctor came in and immediately was mad that the stool had been barely moved. She was mad that my kid grabbed a single glove out of the box. She was mad that she had opened a drawer. She spent more of the visit correcting my kid than actually talking her medical condition over with me. Everyone at the Valpo office has always been amazing. But Dr. Bishop clearly does not care to be around children cause a child being busy is a very normal thing.

I really like this clinic and the staff. I just not fond of Dr. Bishop. The first time my son and went was for his wellness check up. She said right the bat he is tall for his age, but also fat for his age. She didn't even look at his charts yet. He was a new patient. We have gotten her a couple of times over the years and she is always short and seems annoyed with us. I have heard her in the other rooms with other patients and she is laughing and having a great conversation with the parents. As soon as she opens the door she gets this drawn look on her face as though she ate something nasty. I always request another doc or np if we get her.

Yikes... this doctor told me very dangerous, false information related to a potentially dangerous condition. When I presented her with facts regarding this being incorrect (politely), she stated “we are done here” and left the room.

The doctors office then informed me they do not prescribe cough medicine. It is their policy. I was then informed that it was wrote on my daughters chart she had a upper respiratory infection. Why wasn't I told this at the time? My daughter is miserable and only worse 2 days later and they tell me that I can schedule her another appointment to be seen but it will cost me another co-pay and bill my insurance but they can't guarentee they can do anything to help her. Patients do not matter here.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This person should not be practicing medicine with children, as she clearly doesn't care for them. Furthermore, if you are a parent who advocates for your child, prepare to be belittled and ignored. Don't question her treatment plan and don't dare challenge her. I wish I could give zero stars. We have been long term patients of this office, but this experience has forced us to look elsewhere. The staff is amazing she's just terrible.

Bishop was the on call doctor when I spoke to her. She did call back right away, but with attitude. I see this is a trend with all these reviews! She seemed annoyed and it was only 630pm. I called to ask what temp is too high that I need to bring my daughter in... she said "oh NO such thing" (didn't ask about any other symptoms or conditions) I'm not a doctor but I'm pretty sure a high fever in babies can be serious. I do not recommend her, mainly because of her terrible attitude.

This dotor is a tool! Being the oncall doctor and totally unwilling to help because she is "in bed" is ridiculous!! She is rude, lacks empathy and has a terrible attitude. Other doctors in the practice are good but stay clear of her because even a simple conversation will leave you with a bad taste of her terrible attitude.

I worked very hard to find a doctor to help treat my daughter with a rare disease. I was told that Dr. Bishop was willing to work with us. After minimal time with her, I was dismissed from the office. Dr. Bishop bad mouthed the diagnosing doctor we trust and love (even though she had never worked with any of them) and pretty much called me a bad mother. For a person that knows nothing of the disease to question a highly regarded doctor shows me that this office is close-minded.
