21 years ago I had a Spondylolisthesis which is my spine was sliding off of itself. It had gotten to the point that there were no disks left. I was bone on bone. Dr. Kim said he had the cure. He operated on me at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital. What should have been a 4 hour operation took 8 hours. The reason? Because he put all the rods and screws in my back and didn't like the way it looked. So he removed everything and replaced it all. I have had no trouble with this surgery after having watched my father go through nightmare issues with his back surgery. Dr. Kim is a consummate professional and a caring doctor.

He may be a good surgeon but horrible office attentiveness with someone undergoing Back Surgery. My brother was left with one phone call after my mom’s surgery telling him they are trying to stabilize her breathing after she had surgery while he is waiting in visitors room. He never received another call after that as he is still waiting. My mom had to call him when stabilized at 300 pm. The surgery was at 730 in the morning and down for a 2 hour procedure. My mom in local emergency twice after surgery do to severe pain as his office gives run around and no call back when called right away in the morning. Really no on call nurse to be monitoring his post op patients better than this. Horrible. I am a nurse myself and my mom was told with complications after surgery once before they are short staff. Sorry but I could also use that every single day where I work but I would never we are always looking out for patients first.

I had a fusion of T1,T2,T3 due to a severe disc rupture, a 4.5 hour surgery & I give him a 5 for my results. He has also operated on my brother, step brother, step brothers wife, and my 90 year old mother. All rate Dr Kim a 5 for their results. No other Dr would touch my mom because of her age but he fixed her, and she will be 93 in 2 months.

Dr. Kim took my high risk case while at Abbott Northwestern and performed an anterior/posterior 3 level lumbar fusion. It changed my life in a great, positive way. I was in terrible pain before the surgery. After another car accident, I had a 3 level c fusion which took care of terrific headaches, shoulder and back pain. I put off the surgeries, trying to deal with the pain. Both times, I wish I'd done them years earlier. Recovery was a breeze compared to my pre-surgery pain. Highly recommend.

I was referred to him for back surgery. He said I needed hip surgery and referred me to Sanford Thief River Falls. I had successful hip replacement. This was ten years ago. I can't answer all questions.
