I would not recommend
I had a colonoscopy and the doctor has no bedside manner. He is not friendly, nor does he know how to talk to patients. He used medical vernacular talking to a layman saying only 1 of my polyps was excited. I don't think he should be a doctor. If you check his degrees he has a BS in engineering, which more suits his personality and disposition. I would never go back to him. I just randomly go assigned to him. It makes sense that his schedule is open. I'm pretty disappointed that Stanford doesn't recognize and retrain him. I'm not saying he's not a good practitioner, as he may well be, but working with patients is holistic and talking to patients and connecting with them is part of the package. IRead all the other reviews and unfortunately I agree with all of the negative ones, because he's not fit to see patients IMO. Lastly he made me wait an hour to get results because he decided to move on with another patient. Basically a person whom doesn't show much compassion.

Dr. Singh performed a routine colonoscopy at the Stanford Emeryville office. I've always had a great experience with Stanford Healthcare. The other medical staff did a great job preparing and setting expectations. Dr. Singh checked if I had any questions before and after the procedure. Everything went very smoothly and efficiently, and Dr. Singh answered a few questions based on my medical history directly and what I felt was correctly. I can't speak much about his bedside manner because our communication was very brief, but Dr. Singh and his staff did an excellent job with my procedure.

awful experience :(
Not good at all. I would recommend to stay away from him. At my last appointment he acted like he was annoyed and irritated with me. Dismissed every point I was trying to share with him, was extremely condescending and refused to do a deeper analysis/tests I was asking for. Rushed through an appointment without making an eye contact and I left feeling disappointed and hopeless. Now back to square one, looking for a competent doctor who can actually offer solutions and answers. Pretty awful experience :(

Run far away
Wish I would have read these reviews before I saw this Dr. They are all true. He dismissed my concerns ( I was there for a second opinion) and told me that I must just have IBS and I needed to control it with meditation. I was diagnosed with IBD by a different doctor not long after. He was rude and dismissive and told me my referring doctor wasted her time.

The most uncaring, rude, pedantic, inefficient doctor I've ever met in my life! I wish I read the reviews here before I saw him. Transferring to him was simply disastrous, that ended with me hospitalised for the first time since I got my IBD condition years ago. The doctors in the ER where shocked to know how my specialist didn't do any of the necessary steps for the last two months since my flare up started! When I met him for the first time at the beginning of my flare up, he didn't focus on my condition, and instead started talking about how he find people in general irrational, and how he like to talk to his friends about that, ending the appointment without any recommendations "let's wait and see where the condition go"! Over the next two months, I would be texting him that my condition is worsening, yet he just ordered tests, replying with short message showing how little he cares!

We were at the clinic last April. Saw doctor Sun deep Singh. He show no interest in my mother's health. He gave her 2 pieces of paper told her to do hypnosis, acupuncture, and read a book to deal with her pain. On the 2nd page it said carcinomatosis. We went to Stanford because we needed results, we did not know why my mom's stomach was hurting so severe. Doctor Singh did not read his original findings. We put my mom through so many unnecessary tests, when all he had to do was read the his 2nd page that said cancer. We brought her home to Albuquerque because her health was failing fast. We do not find out what she had until a week before her death. Doctor Sun deep Singh Should be fired I not be allowed to practice medicine.

I wish I had read the reviews here first. I have diverticulosis and some chronic constipation. When I tried to take Milk of Magnesia--it gave me huge cramps and I almost went to ER. I went to Dr. Singh to get a third opinion because other doctors before him recommended colonoscopy but did not give alternatives to Mag Citritate which I know gives cramps. Initially Dr. Singh said: "You have to suck it up" then when he saw I was almost in tears-- he started asking about my challenges. Who doesn't have stress and anxiety in the Bay Area? Who doesn't have parenting problems? My kid has had medical issues all year last year but at that time my digestive health was fine. In summer I started having GI issues. So why am I giving him 2 stars? Well he is the only one who said prep can be done using Miralax only and no need for Mg Citrate. What upset me most is he started judging me to have mental health problems and I was not being honest with him!! Childish doctor who likes to play a shrink.

Drove 5 hours to see him. Referred to him for a small intestine diverticulitis. Was told surgery needed to remove by my doctor. We show up after that long drive with hope he will be able to fix this issue and he offers peppermint oil, meditation, and an audiobook on IBS! Then he lies and said he called my doctor ahead of time to say this surgery wont be done but to send me anyway to discuss other treatments. Called dr who said he never called. They said they would not have had me drive for nothing. He then also said i need antidepressants! So insulting. very rude. Would not listen to me at all. Told me it is in my head. I have been off work due to this since JULY. I would not recommend and I will not be returning.

Dr. Singh is very condescending. I explained that I was referred to him by my oncologist due to continuing SIBO issues. My oncologist wanted me to be seen! I wanted to find a Gastroenterologist familiar with Invasive Lobular Carcinoma and how it represents in the GI tract. I was informed that Stanford does not believe in testing for SIBO and that I have IBS. I was told to go get psychotherapy and use Chinese herbs. Dr. Singh sat behind me interrogated me and then asked why I was not looking him in the eye. He even asked what my hobbies are. What does that have to do with my symptoms? It was as if I was on a witness stand and he went from one topic to another. Quite strange. I have been at Stanford for 10 years and I have never had a doctor that has treated me like this, and not treated me at all for my symptoms. The progress notes are incorrect and will need to be rectified.

This Dr. Is disturbing. Reckless, unprofessional, and dangerously complacent. My daughter has battled Crohn's disease for 11 years. Diagnosed at age 10. As my daughter and I have navigated Crohn's and its progression over the years we have become very aware of the side effects of the disease and medications that occur. Hospital stays, surgeries, non-epileptic seizures after her 1st resection, etc. Try to explain these symptoms/side effects including fistulas (which are absolutely at the top of the list) and this 'specialist' tries to convince us we are wrong and the fistulas she has (and has suffered with for years) are not related to Crohn's. Apparently he is more educated than UCSF, Children's Madera, and UC Davis. Stanford is supposed to be one on the premier choices of physicians in the area? Even more disturbing: he is teaching the new and upcoming physicians? Lord... help us all.

I should have read these reviews before seeing him. I drove 2 hours all the way there, full of hope that perhaps a Stanford doctor could help me, only to be told that my condition wasn't his specialty and that he didn't understand why my appointment was considered "urgent." So I guess chronic and sometimes excruciating stomach pain isn't urgent? He was condescending, rude, and couldn't have been less helpful. I wasted an entire day and felt worse afterwards then before.

Dr Singh is my 4th GI. First time I met him, I got is a poker face, but I still give it a shot. After conversation I found Dr Singh trying to dissect problem scientifically. He dig into the labs and doctor's report from 7 years back, previous GI won't. Even question do I have Crohn's. Bottom line, when you go to doctor office and want to have a soothing feeling like home, or getting attention like when walk into a car dealership then Dr. Singh is not a GI for you.

I have never had such a negative experience with a doctor before today. Dr. Singh was arrogant and condescending. He offered me no solutions, criticized the care I've received from other doctors, and told me my only options were to cope with the pain my digestive symptoms cause me. I left my appointment angry and without learning anything new or useful. I have no idea how Stanford can let this man interact with patients.

He was very rude. He talked to me like I was stupid and when I described my symptoms he kept telling me to explain them better. I gave him as much detail as I could, and he just averted his eyes from me almost the whole time and kept looking like he was analyzing how stupid all my symptoms were. Honestly, if you want your patient to tell you more, you should start by being more empathetic and understanding where they are coming from. If you want a better description, ask better questions.
