Unprofessional
Dr. Gilmer was on call when I had my son. She never came to introduce herself or check on me after hours of being on call. The doctor before switching shifts even came and introduced and checked on my before leaving. Hours later my husband tells the nurse it's time and to get the doctor. Dr. Gilmer comes in on the phone and stays on the phone for around 10min or more about scheduling. She doesn't even introduce herself or acknowledge our presence until she gets off the phone. So rude and unprofessional. She checks me and sets the room up for delivery. Baby came out not 15 minutes later. It was very aggravating to have never met this doctor, be in extreme pain, and have to listen to her talk about scheduling while having contractions. She should of finished her phone call before coming into the room. Would not recommend.

Dr. Gilmer ruptured our baby's water sack during labor without consultation or explanation or a chance to refuse. It hurt our labor process and sped things up in a way that was dangerous to our baby. I do not recommend working with this doctor, she was dismissive and impatient with us throughout the delivery.

She is not incredibly talkative, which can come off as her being awkward, but overall, I had a good experience with her as my OB. She took care of my needs, treated me with respect, and was kind. My only complaint is that she could explain stages of pregnancy and procedures better (for OB pts). I think she has a lot of knowledge that she might assume the patient is already privy to that could be helpful to know at appointments. We like hearing about the little developmental details!

She doesn't seem confident in her knowledge. Very ackward and quiet. She was on call when I was having my baby and told me I was 9cm but the nurse was concerned that she was wrong so she got another doctors opinion and I was only 6cm. She also couldn't tell for sure if she broke my water which was very odd..
