Dr. Sumi King, MD

Sumi immediately honed in on me being plus sized during my pregnancy and tested me for gestational diabetes an extra time because she was convinced I would have it (I never did.) My first time meeting her, the first thing she said to me after introducing herself was "Let's address the elephant in the room, you're overweight." I was about 180 lbs and a size 14 when I was pregnant with no risks during my pregnancy and I also only gained 11 lbs by the end of term. When I was nearing the end of my pregnancy, she pressured me to induce when I didn't want to induce unless it was medically necessary. When I refused to induce and I had my daughter a week before her second attempted induction date, she dragged her feet getting to the hospital and I ended up having to be unpleasant with my sweet delivery team to tell her to get in the room when it was time to push. She was very unhelpful during the labor and unsympathetic when she stitched me up as my epidural was wearing off. She is the WORST!!

Horrible experience! I’m a size 12 and has called me fat on numerous occasions. Beware discussing anything with her as she will talk about you outside of the office. Can’t switch fast enough.

I tell everyone I see to stay far away from Sumi King. She tried to make me miscarry my son. She would never answer any of my questions and concerns. She never explained anything to me and I was a first time mom. She was always rude, rushed, or completely ignored me. Luckily, I moved to another doctor. My son and I still have some health problems that Sumi King caused us. But I am very lucky because my son is alive today because I changed doctor's. I don't know how this lady is still a doctor.

23 years as a patient of Dr. King. Feels like talking with a friend instead of a doctor. Is very knowledgeable, yet has practical advice. So happy she is my OB Gyn!
