X-ray
The most bizarre reaction I have heard from a doctor reviewing a shoulder impingement. To the effect of an amount of disgust saying, ‘if you think I’m operating on your shoulder you’re mistaken’. I never brought up any treatments other than a check to see if she could help the condition. Then got an injection that was ineffectual and sent on my way. Since then I have not gotten further then the answering machine for appointments.

Unsympathetic and Abrupt
I saw Dr. Kim because she was the first available doctor. X-rays were taken and Dr. Kim informed me that the pain was a result of arthritis. When I asked if I could have a cortisone injection she refused because she said I had good cartilage and she didn’t want to damage it. She told me to keep taking Ibuprofen and sent me limping home after a 5 minute consultation. The pain got worse and I ended up in ER.I made an appointment with another Orthopedic doctor from another clinic. He examined my x-rays but also ordered a scan of my knees. He had me lie on a table to check the range of motion of my leg which Kim never did. He agreed that I do have arthritis in my knees, but it’s a very mild condition and most likely not the cause of the pain. He gave me a cortisone injection and it greatly helped. The scan showed, which he initially suspected, a small meniscus tear that could be surgically repaired. No one should have to suffer from pain and Dr. Kims lack of caring is inexcusable.

Dissatisfied Patient – Apr 24, 2024

Dismissive
Dr. Kim was dismissive of me the very time I came in, I spent longer waiting for her than our entire appointment took. The second time I visited, I waited an hour past my appointment time to be seen. I also brought support with me only for her to be super dismissive again and also quite rude. Getting snippy with me and claiming there was absolutely nothing she could do and to follow up with a PCP. I just wanted someone to care about the pain I’ve been experiencing and she was definitely the wrong choice, pushing pain management on me and not really helping me find a solution, which is what I thought doctors were for.

Dr. Kim is Awesome
She has injected my knee with 100% success. She helped my right hand with injections. I am getting surgery on the left because it is too far gone. I trust her for a successful surgery. I get appointments scheduled within 2 weeks max. Cannot say enough good thints about her.

Impersonal staff, organized front
The main check-in area was very organized and I didn't have to wait long. I was skipped once I had been checked in and was told so by a nurse. I was never triaged before getting placed into a room. I was given a clipboard and was just told to give it to the Dr when she came in. Dr. Kim is very impersonal. Though she states she treats everyone the same, the fact she had to state it made me think otherwise. I wasn't asked about what medicine I was on when I was given an Rx for rotator cuff tendinitis and wasn't told what it was. It was an NSAID, which I can't take. Medical records stated I refused my BP being taken, which I was never presented with the opportunity to have done. I questioned about continuing time off work to heal and was told she could have legal repercussions if she gave time off for a "non-serious" injury. Overall, I would not recommend her to someone, nor would I return if given the choice.

Top Notch
The surgery experience with Dr. Kim and her team was by far the most efficient, personable, and professional surgery I have ever had. The office visits sometimes seem a little rushed, but overall good with an opportunity to have all questions answered. She has always been very pleasant and personal.

There are no orthopedic docs where I live, so I had to go to Tucson for care. Arrived early for my appointment and thought I would have to wait, but was taken to the treatment area right away. Dr. Kim knocked on the intake door, walked in and immediately put me at ease. She’s personable and very easy to relate to, unlike some other specialists I’ve seen. She fixed my broken displaced wrist after explaining what was going to happen, step by step. Yes, it hurt like crazy, but she realigned it quickly and efficiently! I was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. All the women who assisted in my care were excellent care providers. A+++ to all of them! Thank you everyone! TOI is fortunate to have Dr. Kim, and all of her team.
