Dr. Sucharitha Shanmugam, MD

She let her PA see me as a new patient multiple times and come up with a plan. I was actually okay with the PAs plan because it made sense. I made the mistake of just wanting to see the Dr for her opinion. Being a nurse, I thought this made sense. She was so cold, talked on top of me, and wanted to hear nothing about my symptoms. Then she got mad that I didn’t like her suggestion of going off any treatment to see if it helped my pain. When questioned about her PAs plan she said “well she isn’t a doctor.” Guess she really didn’t care to check up on any of her patients. She modified my chart to fit her narrative too and cover herself for the inhumane way she acted. If you need help navigating a new diagnosis, do not see this woman. Heard she is great maintaining the work after you get a diagnosis from a compassionate rheumatologist but that’s about it.

Dr Shanmugam was amazing. She spends as much time as you need and explains every aspect of your treatment. She is personable and caring. I choose to travel just to keep her as my doctor

She is very proactive with your care, checks on her patients, responds quickly to calls, she returns calls to her patients when she feels we need to hear her voice; otherwise, the staff is very prompt with getting back to you with answers. I would highly recommend her to anyone that is looking for a great Rheumatologist. She makes you feel like any and all of your concerns are valid. I've never felt she has discarded my feelings and that is very important. She was the kind of doctor that others could learn lessons about how to treat patients. I have recommended her to others, and they feel the same. I've been going to her for over a year now and she is the same today as she was on my first visit.

Dr. Shanmugam is a tremendous doctor. I started seeing her when she was at PMA and then I followed her when she opened her own practice. On every appointment, she spends time with me and I never feel rushed. She explains things very well and she 100% cares about my health. I am very fortunate she is my doctor.

What a great doctor. She really listens, asks questions so she can fully understands your health issues, spends time with you to review and clarify. Then she discusses treatments and options. You leave her office, feeling like you are finally moving forward . Her office staff are also very pleasant and helpful.
