This doctor was clueless and no empathy. My wife had pregnancy complications. At first, he tells us that we lost the baby and we just need to take a medication no rush and we have 2 weeks. Then he calls and says he scheduled us for surgery tomorrow. What? I just scheduled it without your consent because it's life threatening. Life threatening? It was no big deal on the prior call. He calls multiple times with different answers and no clue whats going on. Then has the nerve to give my wife attitude after a miscarriage. Now in the hospital it looks like thr surgery was completey unnecessary! Beware and stay away!!!!!!

Terrible experience
I went to Virtua for an IUD insertion. I had a different doctor for my consult, but Dr. Shalit performed the procedure. When we got into the exam room, he went through my medications and stopped at my anti-anxiety med and asked "Why are you on anti-anxiety medicine" pretty accusatorily. He then began to examine me, but he first stood beside me and lifted the privacy sheet up and looked underneath of it at my bare lower half. I know a GYN is going to see everything, but lifting up the sheet like that and looking at my body from the front made me feel very exposed. It felt very unnecessary and frankly inappropriate. He then inserted the IUD and it did not stay put, so he had to insert it again. The entire experience was very painful and dehumanizing.

My experience was as pleasant as it could possibly be-the facility was clean, the staff were incredibly professional and the doctor was kind, thorough and knowledgeable. It's never fun to go to the doctor, but my appointment was certainly the best it could be.

Dr. Shalit is caring and professional. I was in ER late at night. Dr. Shalit contacted the er dr several times to ensure that Im okay. He was concerned because I also have another health issues. That was very nice of Dr. Shalit. Knowing that he was on stand by just in case, is very comforting. I am so grateful!

Dr. Shalit has a way of connecting with me that's very comforting and allows me to be at ease with my condition. He is 100%for his patients' wishes. I am comfortable with talking to him about my concerns where I wasn't talking to my previous gyn.
