Dr. Nishiyama is an outstanding doctor. I could not have had a better surgeon for my hip replacement. He is skilled and uses the most advanced techniques. Moreover, his personal manner is caring, respectful and reassuring. I will be forever grateful that my quality of life has been restored.

I had the good fortune to meet with Dr. Steven K. Nishiyama, DO; Ph.D. at 11am, April 30, 2024. I must say that I am GREATLY IMPRESSED! Dr.Nishiyama is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in hip and knee replacements as well as revision surgery. My consultation with Dr. Nishiyama lasted approximately 45 minutes durning which time we reviewed (in easy to understand detail), my right hip 'bone on bone' X-ray. He took his time and explained how his 'anterior' approach to hip replacement results in a typically faster recovery period, with notably less post procedure pain and discomfort. He was very patient with me and answered all my questions with a very kind, and personable demeanor, and with matter of fact detail when necessary. I felt he had a true understanding and concern for my condition . Conversely, 'I' left his office with a through, and 'true understanding' of my hip condition, and exactly what needs to be done to 'fix it'.My search for the right Surgeon is over!

I got a recommendation for Desert Orthopaedic Center, and was scheduled to see Dr. Steven Nishiyama for my hip.I went to the preliminary appointment, and everything went smoothly, from check in to X-ray to talking to the doctor. Even on a Friday, everyone was friendly and didn't rush things. Dr. Nishiyama took his time to talk about my hip, and explain exactly what is going on. He mentioned side effects that I had noticed, but did not realize were due to my hip issues. He then talked to us about the surgery itself and how it worked.I really appreciated that Dr. Nishiyama took the time to explain things to our understanding and answered questions. He made us feel confident that he knew what he was doing and would be a very competent surgeon.

He took the time needed to make sure I understood his analysis and recommendations. He answered all my questions. I felt that he really knows his stuff.

From the front desk to the Assistant, Radiology and especially Dr. Nishiyama they were all very attentive. Dr. Nishiyama explained the problem and what to expect. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Dr. Nishiyama is one of the best with ease and caring for his patient. This is my first visit and I’ve had not had the best past treatment. Dr. Nishiyama was easy to talk to and did not rush with explanations and made sure you understand the medical terminology. I was so comfortable and at ease after just the first visit

I had both knees done this year2022 . this is within a 5 month period .His work and the work of his team is outstanding!! Passionate caring straight forward. From the initial visit to post-surgery care, Dr. Nishiyama was extremely knowledgeable & profession in the repair of my torn meniscus. As a fellow runner, he had already anticipated most of my questions & concerns and ensured that I was completely satisfied with my newly-repaired knee - all while being sensitive to financial concerns. Truly one of the most competent & affable Orthopedic Surgeons in Las Vegas. 5 stars all the way.

Dr Nishiyama is a rare blend of an exceptionally skilled doctor and an exceptional communicator. He diagnosed my right knee issues which were extreme and performed a total knee replacement in December 2018. I’m extremely happy with the results. I just went to him for an issue with my other knee and he did a cortisone injection. I totally trust his judgement and skills and I’m thankful that I found him.

Awesome experience, I love this doc, he really cares for his patients, passionate about his work. Very easy to talk with. I am extremely happy with my hip replacement surgery and recovery.
