I took my husband to see Dr. Newman after wasting time with several other eye specialists. My husband developed strabizmus in his 60's. After 2 eye surgeries and now using 5 prisms, his eyesight is worsening. No one could tell us why, but Newman will. He's like Sherlock Holmes: brilliant, analytical, extremely thorough, making him a GREAT diagnostician. Just be prepared! He works VERY fast to get the most done in a day. He dictates notes as he asks questions and he's gruff! Yet, he really cares.

The very best. Dr. Newman is a brilliant, direct, no-nonsense physician and that is often the best combination. His sense of humor is sharp and equally direct. He asks questions and tells you what you need to know and you do need to be a participant in the process...I like that style. I have great admiration and respect for him and am thankful he was my physician.

Let me say rude, rude rude. To think i have waited half a year and traveled 3 hours to be seen by this rude dr. Who gives you less than a second to answer a loud demanding self recorded question! Furious. Would never go to again nor recommend him even if I was to go blind I will not go to him. Not comforting at all ! TotaL waste of my day! Just rude no manners at all, I can not stress enough how rude this dr is that ignores the fact the patients voice in there care is very important!

He is the best in his field in this area. He is one of the best in the nation. He knows his stuff. However, he has an extremely poor bedside manner. I would only send a friend or loved one to him if it was absolutely necessary.
