Avoid this man
He was condescending and misdiagnosed me. I waited 8 months to see him and he was awful. I was seeing him for a sinus issue and he told me I didn’t have the issue. He told me my dry mouth was from sleep apnea and not auto immune disease. AVOID HIM AND READ HIS REVIEWS

Worst I’ve Seen
Dr Lyon is the most unprofessional, condescending physician I’ve ever seen. If zero stars were an option, I would have chosen that score. How SSM Health keeps him on staff is beyond me. I took my daughter for a consultation for a tonsillectomy. He reprimanded me for having her vaccinated and questioned the diagnosis of her life threatening medical condition that has nothing to do with his speciality. Then told me that me that her snoring obviously wasn’t a huge worry or I would have recorded it. He tried to dismiss us without even looking in her mouth. When asked to assess he said, “well that’s not the worst I’ve seen” and refused surgery. A different ENT took one look and wanted to do surgery the next week saying her airway was over 80% blocked posing a significant health risk. Thankfully, my child has a strong advocate unwilling to be bullied into submission by an unprofessional man.

Unprofessional, uncomfortable, worst experience
He talked a ton about weight and healthy eating when I was there for a throat issue and in a lot of pain. Seemed unprofessional. My feelings did not feel validated and he seemed to talk in circles leaving me confused, upset and not planning to return. Better off finding a different ent.

Worst Healthcare Experience
No young women should go to Dr.Lyons. He was incredibly condescending and didn’t let me get a word in without invalidating it. I had an appointment for my ear popping, but left without any answers. The appointment was over an hour long, just for him to say that it would take time to figure out. He suggested that I go on a diet, even though I was suffering from an eating disorder and was very under weight. When my mom told him this, he said “she’ll live” and “she’s fine.” He proceeded to ask me if I was “an anorexic.” I was uncomfortable during the entire appointment and my fight or flight response was activated. I left feeling upset and disrespected.

Best Doctor we have ever seen
Dr. Lyon is the most compassionate doctor my son has ever seen. My son is 3 and has special needs, really bad sensory issues and has experienced medical trauma. Dr. Lyon goes above and beyond for his patients. Within a minute my son accepted Dr. Lyon, gave him high 5’s and even let him complete his exam.. which is unheard of for my son. Usually As soon as we enter a doctors office, my son is in fight or flight mode. This doctor changed all of that like the flip of a switch. I am so thankful!!

I had a lesion removed from my ear today and Dr Lyons was very easy to talk to. He is passionate about talking about weight loss to people that are overweight. Which I really appreciate because my husband and I both need to lose weight. Some people might find that rude but I did not at all. Sometimes the truth hurts if people feel offended if a doctor tells you you have to lose weight. I did not feel offended at all. l'd recommend him! He gave me some great resources to read on the Keto diet and great healthy food choices. Thank Dr Lyons!

Dr Lyon has cared for my grandaughter for many years. This week she had an appointment for her ears. He lectured us about our weight ( we are both obese) and when I asked how this pertained to her ears he said he was bound as a physician to bring it to our attention. She never wants to see him again. It was way out of line.
