Dr. Lewis has been our family dr. for 15 years.
He is a wonderful dr. who makes time for you when you need to see him and spends time with you during his exam. He is very competent and caring and always accessible. We rue the day when he decides to retire.

Staff is very unfriendly and talks about patients even where patients can hear. Office staff is very hateful when you call for appt or refile.

My wife and I have been seeing Dr. Lewis for almost 30 years. We have never had a problem getting an appointment with him in a reasonable time and has always looked out for our well being. As we’ve gotten older he has taken more interest in our long term health and suggesting things to do to maintain our health. Many years ago while on a routine visit he found a growth that I had not noticed. He quickly sent me to a specialist and we had the growth removed in less than 2 weeks. Fortunately it was benign and all is well but I can’t help but wonder what if it wasn’t and how his quick response could have saved me.. Also, all his staff are long term employees and to me that says a lot about how they are treated. They have always been very nice to us. Highly recommend!

Alert!! Take this information for what you will, Dr. Lewis conducted a house visit yesterday with an elderly patient refusing to wear a mask even though there was a sign on the door that prompted individuals to do so. The patient is now in the ER with pneumonia like symptoms and has tested positive for Covid-19. We contacted Dr. Lewis to inform of the occurrence and to our surprise he does not believe that as a health care professional, he is required to wear a mask in his practice or while conducting home visits; However he did agree to wear one in OR because of the potential "Bacterial Spread". Under Executive Order 63 of the Virginia Department of Health, Individuals are required to wear a face coverings while indoors. I will be reporting this information with the VDH via Franklin County and suggest those that are regular seen by Dr. Lewis to discontinue as you/family's health is not a priority of his.

Update to my last reviews. After trying the changed RX, (lower mg) and having issues, I called the office. Dr. Lewis called me and we discussed it and he then phoned in my 40mg. RX as I'd originally asked. He shared some science about how it's not a long term drug, etc., and gave me something to try to try to get to every other day usage. IGoal is to get off it altogether. He has renewed my faith in doctors in this area - he actually went out of his way to do what's best for me. Refreshing.

Dr. Lewis is great Doctor. He spends time with his patients and gets to know them and find out what is going on. He is not a doctor that rushes in and rushes out. I have missed this in Doctors.

I have not been able to get out of that office after my appointment in less than 90 minutes in my last 5 visits. The last visit i waited 30 minutes before the receptionist even noticed I was there. This was even after I had signed in !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
