I visited Dr. Xydas' office for the first time prior to scheduling surgery. The entire staff were very welcoming, professional and pleasant. I was immediately put at ease. Dr. Xydas took time to explain everything about what to expect and what the surgery would entail. They patiently answered all my questions and made sure I did not leave without completely understanding what I needed to do during the time remaining before the surgery. I left feeling very confident in the medical care I will receive.

Dr Xydas came highly recommended by my cardiologist. My surgery was complicated due to my age and prior history with my ischemic heart disease. From the moment I first met him I knew he was the surgeon for me. He took the time to explain all of the options and answer all our questions. I was very lucky to have met Dr. Xydas. He saved my life. I was diagnosed with an aortic aneurism at 40 years old. After additional testing, my entire family was diagnosed with aortic aneurisms. It was time for surgery.Given my age, finding a top surgeon was of great concern to me. Specifically, one that could perform the highly technical valve-sparring aortic root procedure. After much research and interviews, I chose Dr. Xydas due to his professionalism, decisiveness, and reputation. I trusted him. I am now six months out of surgery and living a generally normal life.He and his staff were very professional during the entire process. Dr X is not only an incredibly proficient surgeon, but he is the kindest doctor I have ever met. He spent so much time pre-surgery with my wife and myself, explaining his technique, and allaying our concerns and fears. After surgery he was again so patient with my family, answering all of their questions. Most importantly....surgery was a success! Xydas replaced my aortic valve SAVR minimally invasive. I interviewed many and chose wisely. He was great during the lead uo and follow up. Surgery went well, no deficiency or death:)

I flew to Miami from overseas for valve surgery by Dr. Xydas and I would do it again. I had Echo and Cath on Monday, Pre-Op visit on Wednesday and surgery Thursday same week. Dr. Xydas was informative, detailed and never rushed during the visit. Following surgery, I saw him or one of his partners every day. The level of care I have received from the surgical , cardiology and anesthesia teams along with the nursing and supporting staff was something to be thankful for. Dr. Steve Xydas is a hands on specialist. He takes proactive actions in order to educate the patient about the procedure and diligently keeps a follow up schedule, either personally and through his team. He is a truth worthy professional from the first meeting.

Dr. Xydas was remarkable. He explained the options in a very calm and methodical manner that inspired such a degree of trust and confidence in me. Not one question was left unanswered or unexplained. Never had I left the office of physician feeling so positive of the eventual outcome of my procedure. Kudos also for his assistant PA Who also demonstrated a high degree of knowledge in the field. I feel I am in the best hands I could be for the procedure I need to undergo.

Steve Xydas operated on me in August 2018, excellent doctor and person. Day and night pending the patient. Three months after surgery for an abdominal aortic aneurysm, Xydas was watching me all the time. Always attentive, explanatory, cordial. At all hours in CIU and later in the room. A doctor that no longer exists. I love him and his team.
