Dr. Stephen Wener, MD

Dr Wener is the only doctor at the VA I have ever liked and trusted. He really cares about the people he takes care of. He took the time out of his busy day to help me connect my disability that I had been repeatedly denied. I was a Paratrooper and my injury was even in my service medical records but they kept denying it anyway. He believed that I had a valid claim, which I did. Without his caring attitude I don't know if I would ever have been service connected. I was later able to get a total knee replacement for my service connected injury thanks to him. Otherwise I would probably be crippled right now. Thank you Dr Wener!

Dr. Wener has been my primary care doctor for 20 years. I have always felt like I am his most important patient when I was in his office. He always replies to emails, and truly does put the patients needs first. On multiple occasions he has had me come in to see him on his lunch break, because I had what I felt was an emergency. He has always given me sound medical advice. Today was a very sad day. At my appt today he informed me that he was retiring. Dr. Wener, THANK YOU for YOUR SERVICE!!!!!

Had my 1st appointment with Dr. Wener, having recently relocated from Tucson Az. Dr. Wener was GREAT! He spent as much time as necessary going over my medical history, and checked out all my vitals. Couldn't be more pleased with Dr. Wener.

Every VA facility shoud be full of professionals like Dr. Wener! A commensurate professional who truely cares about vets and it shows. (Check the display cases in the clinic and the Cape Coral Military Museum)

Dr. Wener is a caring, dedicated, and thorough physician. I am fortunate that the VA assigned me to his clinic. He has demonstrated competence in assessing possible interactions and side effects with the multiple prescriptions that I have. He has helped me to reduce the list that I accumulated due to several earlier medical conditions for which I had been treated. He listens well and communicates effectively.
