I have been seeing Dr. Popkin for over 15 years. I have no complaints about his medical treatment or advice. He is personable, flexible, and professional. He listens and genuinely seems to care about his patient's issues. I just hope he does not retire anytime soon because good psychiatrist are very hard to find in Denver, Colorado.

Dr. Popkin diagnosed me and medicated me correctly after several years of searching for the correct help. I saw several other psychiatrists and psychologists. He nailed it. After eight years, I am still basically on the same meds that I was when he first diagnosed me. I am grateful. Unfortunately, I no longer live in Denver or he'd still be my doctor!

I have been one of Dr. Popkin's patients since the summer of 2015. In complete sincerity, I would not be where I am at today without his support, empathy, and his wealth of knowledge. I started graduate school shortly after becoming a patient of Dr. Popkin, and he made himself available to best assist me in my treatment. Due in large part to Dr. Popkin, I graduated with my master's degree on-time and with honors. Throughout the years, he has continued to attentively listen to any concerns or worries that I have experienced, addressed those problem areas, and has adjusted my medicine when needed. His kindness and authenticity are always present in every appointment. In addition, his staff are quick to respond and always provide help when I need to reschedule, run out of refills, or have billing questions. I could not recommend Dr. Popkin enough to anyone who truly wants to work towards on their mental health recovery and/or betterment of their lives.

He never asked me about sports, my leadership positions or anything related to religion and or dating. Made frequent comments about his daughter at Colgate University. Hindsight is 20/20. He failed me in the area of sports psychology. I could have been faster stronger and a better captain. As for college he never asked about serious problems in my life. We never really discussed enough. My finances were never discussed I was led astray.

Dr. Popkin is excellent in many ways. He is very easy to talk to and his presence is calming and understanding. He has a way of re-framing an issue that is exactly what feels right to your soul! He is excellent in managing my dosages of various medications because he listens very attentively, and therefore, his recommendations are just what I need. He also offers medication management without forever therapy and is quick to identify any changes that may need to happen with my meds.

Called for an appointment and spoke to an very prickly receptionist. She repeatedly emphasized that Dr Popkin gets phone calls everyday for new patients and that she didn't think she could ever fit me in. Just stating that you aren't accepting new patients would be sufficient- no reason to berate a patient seeking psychiatric services which can be a very difficult call to make.

I consider myself very fortunate to have been under the care of Dr. Popkin for going on 7+ years. I have no complaints regarding his work or care. He is no nonsense in his approach, uses session time wisely, and very in tune with my concerns and feedback. He has stabilized my condition to the extent that it can be with current medical knowledge. I have never felt that my mental health was not of his primary concern nor have I ever felt or been over medicated.

After 4 visits he couldn't get my name correct, pushes pills I specifically said I didn't want and was absurdly priced. Example of our health care system at work
