Dr. Stephen Larsen, MD

I've only been to Dr. Larsen one time but I felt Dr. Larsen listened to what my issues were and seemed concerned about getting me well. Very nice and professional Doctor. Good bedside manners for sure.

Dr. Larson took the time to explain the details of my condition and to listen to my input. He didn’t give the impression that he had to cut my visit short. I have no reservation recommending him.

Dr. Larsen was exceptional in treating my kidney stone @ West Valley Hospital Goodyear Az. He wasn’t my first pic when he came to explain the surgery because of the pain I was experiencing and I told my husband well he’s kind of arrogant, however my husband said he’s really good just relax & listen to him. I laughed at my husband oh y just bedside @ hospital w me how do you know. Because while u were waiting to wake up from surgery Fr. Larsen was very kind compassionate understood my attitude due to pain wasn’t offended and explained everything to my husband in detail and assured me he would do everything he could for me to be comfortable and I thought he was in his 20s turns out good genetics. So I developed a much stronger relationship with Dr. Larsen and my husband was having some issues with his prostate gland, I said well you can see my urologist Larsen, he said yeah I like that guy! He ended up finding out my husband had prostate cancer and treated us with such great care concern

After a long search and reading tons of reviews, I decided to go with Dr. Larsen for my vasectomy. The office made it extremely easy to book my appointment and the staff was very friendly. During my consultation, Dr. Larsen did an amazing job explaining every detail, answering any questions I had and making me feel comfortable about the procedure. He didn't rush me at all. I was able to schedule my procedure for only 4 weeks after my consultation, so I didn't have to wait too long to have it done. I chose to have the laughing gas during my procedure since I was still very nervous, even with the medication they prescribed for me to take before coming in. The nurses who prepped me were also very nice. Once Dr. Larsen came in he still made me feel very comfortable about being there. His bedside manner is amazing. I have some friends and coworkers who have been thinking about getting vasectomies too, but don't know where to start. I will definitely be sending them to Dr. Larsen!

Thoroughly and patiently explained elective surgery procedure and potential treatment pluses and minuses; very objectively.

I visited this place twice for infertility test and I was satisfied for both times. They made me feel very comfortable and explained about everything so nicely. The office and waiting room were very clean and neat.

Dr. Larsen has a very well organized office. The sign-in is rather extensive so allow time. My procedure was done painlessly and quickly. He allowed time to answer my question throughly. The office sent additional material by e-mail to my home allowing me to purchase my prescription at a discounted rate,

Dr. Larsen is an excellent urologist. I saw two other urologists without effective treatment. Dr. Larsen has quickly and effectively started definitive treatment. Excellent communication skills and caring approach to patients. Highly recommend!

I have been to 3 Doctors befor Dr. Larson and he is the first one that not only wasn't staring at his tablet or clipboard the whole time but also actually listened to me and responded to my concerns and questions other than "I'm sorry you are goimg through this." I know I will be in good hands.

I would strongly recommend Dr. Larsen and his staff to anyone needing a urologist! Dr. Larsen was able to perform surgery to remove a large kidney stone in a very timely manner. He has no idea how thankful I was for that surgery after being in pain for too long of a time. His NP recently took the time to thoroughly go over my imaging studies and test results and answer any questions I had. Top-notch young lady! And, yes, should the doctor or his staff read this: I AM drinking more water :) Thanks to all of you for your professionalism! It is much appreciated!

He is always prepared to listen & answer questions, he asks for patient feedback, he respects the patient, he offers possible treatments, he clarifies & educates the patient.

Good communication, answered all my questions, improved my outlook and understanding of my issues.

I was assigned Dr. Larsen after being seen in the ER for a kidney stone. It took 3 appointments to finally meet Dr. Larsen and that was only because I insisted on meeting the Dr. who recommended and was performing my surgery. He was impatient, rushed, and condescending, he didn't take any time to listen to my concerns or other treatment options. I ended up canceling my surgery with him and got a second opinion from another clinic. The other urologist informed me that I was a great candidate for non invasive lithotripsy, no stents quick recovery time. I was in and out of the hospital in 4 hours. If I would have went with Dr. Larsen's recommendation I would have had a stent in for 2 full weeks along with an invasive procedure that laser's the stone from the inside the ureter.

The doctor seemed knowledgeable and pleasant enough, he carved out a plan of 3 steps. The wait at the office was over 1 hr. and it was packed in a tiny lobby which is concerning given the Covid situation. His office seems understaffed but his fees are very high. When calling the office it takes over 4 minutes for 1st contact every time. The staff always has to contact him for any answers and it's difficult to get results and impossible to reach him directly unless you show up for a visit even when just following up to receive lab results. I find this very inefficient. They should have a patient portal.

I'm confident Dr Larsen had my best interest a priority. Great job of going over the options available to make a plan of action.
