Dr. Stephen Laborde, MD

I don’t understand why people call this great dermatologist “rude.” Dr Stephen Van LaBorde is intelligent & efficient, which should be a patients priority. Maybe people want a chatty dr., but I prefer a brilliant physician who doesn’t have to entertain me. LaBorde is the most knowledgeable dermatologist I’ve had & Ive lived in major cosmopolitan cities including Manhattan, NY. Dr LaBorde can look at your spot & diagnose even before sending to lab. After almost 20 years, his guess was never wrong. Depending on official prognosis LaBorde is quick to get me into MOHS surgeon which is greatly appreciated.

Hi, I just wish I had read these reviews before going but was recommended from a friend to see Dr. Laborde. Do I need to say I will not take his advice again. Same experience rude staff in the receiving desk, waited there for 15min before taken to the doctors room. Only again to verify the same questions I was asked at the front desk. Now after a whole 30min in the doctors room and 45min after my appointment I walked out and on the way out the doctor was telling that he was just coming to see me. I do not treat my client this way and is showing a great deal lack of respect. Just glad I didnt take any treatment from him.

I've been a patient of Dr. Laborde's for years. I've had all kinds of skin cancer issues and he has always been courteous, helpful and informative. He has referred me twice for more serious issues to specialists for surgeries, but I go to him regularly for check-ups to catch pre-cancerous skin anomalies before they become more serious. I highly recommend him.

If you want rude, rude, rude and condescending, you have found the place!!!!! And he didn't fix my hand, either. First visit, I wanted a foreign object removed from my hand. He wanted to leave it there and shoot it with a steroid hoping the scar tissue would shrink. Injections appear to be the largest part of his bag of tricks. We tried it his way. No change. Went for the follow up . . .. . Waited 30 minutes after my appointment and wasn't even taken to a room. I told the staff person at the front I was leaving but THEN, and ONLY THEN . . . We are ready to take you back RIGHT NOW!!! She has your chart!! Then she arrives and takes me to a room with the promise that she will update me as to when I can expect to be seen . . . Do you think I got an update???? Nooooo . . . . . So after cooling my heels there for 15 minutes, for a total of 45 minutes later, THE DOCTOR (bow down now, please) arrives and says 'what's the problem?' I explained the timing and he so kindly said "DO

Excellent doctor.

Limited treatment options. Gets nervous when asked questions. Dodges questions. Gave me four medications at same time,along with laser therapy result a burnt skin...

Firstly, the staff are very courteous and attentive. The office is very clean with a calm ambience. Dr. Laborde has a wonderful, calm and professional demeanor. He is confident in his management recommendations and obviously knows his craft. I highly recommend him for and dermatology problems.
