Dr. Stephen Kim, MD

Dr Kim did hip replacement surgery over three years ago when I was 58 years old. I have permanent nerve damage and the entire front of my leg from hip to ankle is numb. He and Pinnacle took no responsibility and told me it was from my back. I did not have a numb leg when I started seeing him for my hip pain. I spent the year after surgery seeing a neurosurgeon, neurologist, had an MRI, nerve conduction test, physical therapy, and shots in my back to show it was from his surgery and not my back. I spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours going to doctors that year only to conclude he damaged the Femoral Nerve. He never admitted any fault and the practice management would not call me after leaving many messages. Unfortunately I was told there is nothing that can be done to fix it. Later I ran into a patient he had done knee replacement surgery and he had the same problem with numbness from his surgery.

I went to Dr. Kim for knee pain. It is debilitating and I'm not able to walk more than absolutely necessary. Exercise is out of the question. His first recommendation was to lose weight. When I let him know that I couldn't even walk, so exercise isn't possible, he just threw out that I should get put on medication to lose the weight. He then detailed the next steps in my treatment, and none of them had me coming back to see him (which I'm fine with). If I need surgery, he will refer me to someone else. He clearly only wants thin, fit patients. If you aren't that then skip him.

Everyone was professional and very welcoming. Dr. Kim was very knowledgeable and explained the situation very well. He gave me options and told me of available resources.

Right hip replacement nine years ago , everything is going great

This was my second time visiting the facility in Acworth. I’m pleased to state, “I’m in good hands, with a full understanding of what’s to come.” Dr. Kim was very pleasant and explained the surgery process very well. He answered some questions of mine, that helped me to fully accept my near future. It is awesome to know one is in good hands.

I am a retired RN. Dr Kim has replaced both of my knees and both hips. From a professional point of view, Dr. Kim is excellent.

Dr. Kim is a great person and very experienced surgeon Just completed 6 week post-op, released of all restrictions and walking 2 miles without assistance. Was set-up with a PT app called MyMobility and love it. Followed it religiously and caulk it up to a great recovery to date. Highly recommend!!!

Dr Kim performed my left hip replacement in 2018. The prep, surgery, and post surgery care went extremely well. Dr Kim is very patient during consultations and has a great bedside manner. My other hip will need replacement at some time in the future and I will certainly use Dr Kim again. I highly recommend Dr Kim.

I’m so grateful to have Dr. Kim as my orthopedic surgeon. He has replaced both of my hips, the most recent one in May, and I don’t see how things could have gone better. He’s a great surgeon and his staff is the best. He also has a very pleasant personality and a good sense of humor and he doesn’t overreact to things. As I said, I was very fortunate to have him as my surgeon.

Dr. Kim listens carefully to my concerns, asks questions and decides the best course of treatment. Explains how and why he came to his conclusion and answers all questions.

Dr Kim is a very caring and thorough doctor. He always has my best interest on his mind as we discuss treatment plans.

Over several years Dr Kim has replaced a hip and knee for me. He is easy to talk with and my recovery was fast and complete in both cases.

Had my knee replaced January 30th. I can't praise Dr. Stephen Kim of Resurgens and Welstar hospital @ Windy Hill enough. They were beyond awesome and the only place that I will ever recommend.

Can’t remember the name of the lady that referred me to dr Kim. But her words were if you can possibly get this surgeon he is the Best! About 7 years after my surgery, I can’t explain to you how much better my life is now. New hips, new attitude, amazing surgeon! Dr Kim I can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for me! Spent a considerable amount of time discussing my X-rays and the next steps necessary. Answered all of my questions. Did not appear rushed. Was truthful and had an excellent bedside manner. This is coming from an RN with over 40 years of experience.

Dr. Kim was fantastic, he performed my right knee replacement several years ago he made the experience nice, he took the time to explain everything and answered all my questions and concerns. Now I have to have knee repair on my left knee and I can't think of anyone better to do it, I have total confidence in him. Wish we had more doctors like him

Doctor Kim is a very good doctor he first did my mom total knee replacement about 5or 6 years ago and she haven’t had any major issues so when I started having knee problems I new I wanted doctor Kim and last he did surgery on both of my knees I will remember he to others family and friends.
