Dr. Hipp informed me that the back pain I’d had for the majority of my life was because I had broken my back body surfing when I was an adolescent. My discomfort and pain were never taken seriously before so I was shocked by my diagnosis. I was an avid horseback rider before I knew what was causing my discomfort and could have been paralyzed by a fall! I will always be grateful to Dr Darden and Dr Hipp for essentially saving my life. Dr. Hipp was totally honest with me about my recovery and I will always be grateful. This man is a genius!

I am a retired career naval officer, not given to exaggeration or hyperbole. Dr. Hipp performed an anterior cervical corpectomy for an issue causing great pain. Great results. On subsequent visits for other issues he was extremely rude and dismissive. Last time seen he even accused me of lying about pain and walked out. I was shocked, and now treated by pain clinic. Couple years ago he had staff send me a letter saying he'd quit the practice. Not true. I question his mental stability.

Dr. Hipp did my surgery in late 2012. I would highly recommend him. He is a great Dr. Office staff were nice. Only had 1 issue, but it was just human error.

Strange that my review of Dr. Hipp has disappeared. I will now just say that at first when he though he was going to cut on me he was very nice, asking if I wanted pain pills. When I saw him on a subsequent visit and described how my symptoms had SOMETIMES but not usually been intermittent he accused me of changing my story "every time you comer here" as he typed into the computer, said "we're done here" and walked out leaving me sitting there with mouth open. Excellent surgeon. Lousy person.

Dr Hipp changed my life. After twenty years of severe lower back pain and the beginning of foot drop I surrendered to the need for surgery. It was a last resort. Since the day of the surgery, nineteen years ago, I have not had one episode of back pain. NOT ONE. I am an active, healthy, happy, painfree 59 year old. Thank you Dr hIpp is much for changing my life. Dr. Kristin Day

In my opinion, Dr. Hipp and his P.A. are either incompetent or negligent. I was sent here through the Veteran's HealthChoice program after my V.A. neurologist was very concerned about my constant headaches stemming from MRI results showing moderate to severe disc degeneration in my cervical vertebrae. They took x-rays then claimed nothing was wrong with my neck. My neurologist wonders if Dr. Hipp is blind. Not enough room left for a detailed review but enough to warn you to steer clear.

Dr. Hipp is possibly well known for his dry sarcasm, however, as a surgeon, he is extremely competent. Even the hospital nurses will tell you that you definitely want to listen to his instructions, however, if they were having an ACDF, he is "the doctor" that they would use. I had no issues with swallowing or talking. He did a great job on my incision - should be minimal scarring. Yes, he can be blunt, but he is good at what he does.

So I will admit I was nervous going into this appointment because of the reviews on here, however, he is simply amazing. He is a firm doctor who wants to take care of you, so if you aren't letting him or aren't getting your way then that's why you left a bad review. He was so kind and helpful. He asked me if I had enough of the pain and I am 100% sure I am done with the pain. He explained everything perfectly and told me he would take good care of me. He went to med school we didn't! I trust him

Staff were not friendly. We were told we needed in interpreter at our visit. We got there and there was no interpreter. Which was fine since I was able to interpret. But when there was a single word that I was not able to translate they took it to another level saying that's why we needed someone. Even though I knew that with most interpreters they would not have been able to translate some things right. We were not at fault when they requested for someone and they never showed.

I am in SHOCK from my visit. He was hostile towards me from the moment I shook his hand. He said there was nothing wrong with me and that I needed to get off all pain meds. He said I should use advil. I have an MRI that shows two tears in my L4:L5 & L5:S1. I have been out of work for two weeks and I'm really worried about my family! STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR!
