Narcissitic and predatory
I never saw another therapist after just a few sessions with him many years ago. That says it all.

Did harm
He asked me if I had ever had a s3xual relationship with a therapist before and than proceeded to try to seduce me. I was a v1rgin and very innocent 21-year-old. He traumatized me, and the trauma lasted decades.

He starts every session with collecting copayment and finishing his billing tasks. I felt a bit disconnected and not very detail oriented. I give him three stars because I think he is knowledgable but bedside manner and social skills seem lacking.

Refused to acknowledge overbilling
Telehealth
Their billing service charged us over $100 we didn't owe. They said to wait until they had sorted it out with insurance. Dr Galston demanded our son (his patient) pay again when we didn't owe anything. I have been trying to get our money back for 5 months now & they won't return calls. Insurance has been calling & emailing them and they won't respond. He also charged us for a no show ($145) when my son missed his call by 1 minute. Dr created this policy for no shows without telling us as well.

Rude Staff, Unengaged Doctor
First of all, the staff at Neuropsych treated me like damaged goods. They were curt, condescending, and weirdly distrustful, which I guess I should have expected because I am a patient of a psychiatrist, so I must be "crazy," right? Always awesome to feel stigmatized for mental health problems as I attempt to solve my mental health problems. Unfortunately, I think Dr. Galston coasting at this point and no longer cares much about his patients. You have to do automatic follow-ups to keep getting your prescription, which considering the fact that he talks to you for five minutes and has no solutions other than "take more" and promptly charges $130, starts to feel like a shake-down. He puts you on these pills, and you CANNOT stop taking them, but if you don't give him $130 every eight weeks, you're boned, even if you've been seeing him for years. It's completely unfair. Believe the other bad reviews.

Would give less than one star if I could. I saw Dr. Galston during my early teenage years. I suffered from extreme mood dysregulation and psychosis, in which this doctor told me that I was being "factitious"/lying about my symptoms. This completely invalidated me and made me distrust future doctors. I left his office in tears multiple times, in which my mother had to attempt to bring clarity to him. Gave me a creepy feeling too, since he kept commenting on my "mature appearance" at 13 years old. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!!!!

My experience with Dr. Galton is that he demonstrated very little curiosity regarding my condition (depression). Put another way, he was not much of a problem-solver, something that patients like me really want in a psychiatrist. Because of COVID, appointments were always by phone; I requested a video connection (as I think more information -- such as affect -- can be transmitted). He showed no interest, so it was by phone. One appointment was as short as 12 minutes (wonder how much he charged). In my case, he mainly managed prescriptions. For these reasons, I would not recommend him as your psychiatrist.

During the visit while we were talking he was filling out the bill at the same time. Would not recommend. Put me on maximum doses of several different medicines and was detrimental to my health overall.

I recommend Dr. Galston to anyone that is struggling with despair, anxiety, lost hope. Dr. Galston has been key to improving my care for depression and anxiety. Appointments are on time and he listens well and adjusts meds as necessary. I started seeing Dr. Galston 2 years ago when I was severely sleep deprived and depressed. Although I still have many unresolved issues, the meds make a significant difference in my ability to cope with what I can not change.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Galston’s for years. He remembers everything I say and is very empathetic. I especially enjoy his sense of humor! I have recommended him to friends who have liked him, also.

We were looking for someone to evaluate and help our teenage son. The initial appt was supposed to be 45 minutes and the follow ups 30. He only spent 20 minutes with him the first time and instantly put him on meds. The follow up visit was only 10 minutes. He only seems interested in money at $440 for the first visit and $130 for the followups (no ins coverage). Very little conversation according to my son. We feel very taken. Also sketchy that he pulls cash out of his pocket to make change.

Just speaking the the receptionist was enough for me to decide not to go to this practice. After being made aware that this appointment was to address anxiety she was still extremely rude and short. You’re a psychologist, you should have a team who are looking to help people and have a positive attitude when dealing with possibly sensitive patients. So disappointing that your upfront staff make patients uncomfortable.

Avoid Neuropsych if you can. Capricious rules and poor follow-through. I am so glad that I no longer deal with their attitude or lack of engagement.

I saw Dr. Galston for years and always felt like he was checking boxes on a checklist. Marriage, check; health, check; etc. He didn't even look up the majority of the time. If he had, he would have seen that my mouth was hanging open, because I couldn't believe how disengaged he was. I'm fortunate to have found another provider who spends 30 min. truly listening and caring and always looking at me! I pay much less, and the treatment is far superior.

As of Jan 20q7, 've been seeing Dr. Galston for over three years. On my first visit Dr. Galston was very attentive and empathetic, and I left with a hopeful positive feeling. On follow-up visits over the next several years, I started to get the impression that while Dr. Galston probably wants to "help, that he might be burning out. Our visits are usually rather short, much of that being spent the with him reviewing notes. He is willing to adjust medications and doseage.

My daughter left his office in tears. He is supposed to be helping her, not making her feel worse. He wants to prescribe medication, but if you don't want daily medication, then he offers no help but to tell the patient to read a book. He doesn't want to provide therapy, he only wants to medicate. That is his solution.
