Good but paternalistic. A few years after I saw him for a second opinion, I heard him speak somewhere and mention that he has tried to become a better listener. Too bad he didn't figure that out at the time I saw him. He did have good information but pushed me back towards my then-doctor, whom I ended up having to dump due to his utter inability to listen. I would have liked to see Dr. Herring again (his office administrator refused to even pass on my message after their system failed to get the records i sent them) while I still had good insurance. I did finally get a diagnosis from another doctor, while I still had that insurance (which allowed appropriate treatment) the doctor I was being pushed back into the care of had failed to make for many years, in part because he simply substituted his own projections for information I gave him. More paying attention to what patients tell you, less acting like all doctors are in a club and "professional courtesy" is the highest value, please.

A most Brilliant & caring doctor! He is truly wonderful!!! After seeing numerous other specialist, Dr. Herring told me that I had been in chronic pain more than half my life and he was going to see about giving me my life back. He truly worked to reduce and manage the cause of tremendous pain. He provides unbeatable care and is extremely gentle when administer painful nerve tests and epidurals. I have often referred friends to him. They too adore him! Good lucky getting past gatekeeper Sandy!!!
