Kirkland Dermatology Associate~Dr. Vale s.
My 1st visit at Kirkland Dermatology Associates was in June 2023 with Dr. Vale he was outstanding! I've been searching for a doctor who has the ability to recognize and diagnose Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA) since 2012. Dr. Vale had the best bedside approach. (in which I've have not encountered for years.) As soon as we met, I felt at ease. He listened to my chief complaint; he TRULY LISTENED! I've tried to get other doctors to examine (rare these days) & slow down long enough to actually hear my symptoms; as PsA has many red flags (symptoms) that indicate PsA. The doctor must evaluate all (keyword~ALL) of the symptoms & tests that in order to dianose a patient with PsA. He was able to diagnose my problem & did it as if he actually cared about his patients. The staff was professional & friendly. I only wish there were more medical providers in WA as this noteworthy team of physicians & working professionals.

You may not be covered! Insurance rejected.
I had a return appointment with the doctor after evaluating skin conditions 6 months ago. That visit was covered by my insurance. As I was checking in for my follow up appointment, I was told the practice no longer accepted my insurance (Medicare Advantage), and that my visit costs would be paid by me, personally. I left. Be Careful!

Unclear post-procedure needs
The mole biopse and then later, the pre-cancerous mole removal clinical procedures from my back were excellent and resulting healing is going well. However, with my first known surprising cancerous experience, I was not provided with enough information on how to prepare for the pre-cancerous mole removal on my back. Basically, what I would need to do post-procedure (care giver being available, bandages and tape needed, frequency of bandage change, etc). Note, I cannot reach this area! This should have been verbally explained and written material available PRIOR to the procedure. A biopse post-procedure care is simple compared to a pre-cancerous mole removal with sutures. Communicate, communicate, communicate.
