Dr. Sophia Lubin, DO

I came to Dr. Lubin because I have chronic endometrial polyps, with side effects of chronic fatigue, mood swings, irregular periods. I requested (not under her suggestion whatsoever), that I get multiple hormone/thyroid blood tests done. No one ever called me with the results and it wasn’t until a MONTH later that I was able to finally schedule an appointment to get the results back. Dr. Lubin wrote off my results as “in normal range,” even though I had an elevated testosterone level and a low thyroid T3 level at 3.1 (under active thyroid). When I began to tell her my symptoms of how I couldn’t get out of bed, mood swings, she downplayed my symptoms as “stress” and suggested antidepressants. I immediately shut her down when she made these suggestions and had to beg for an ultrasound. She called me three weeks later, notifying me I had cysts on my ovaries and my symptoms/test results were in fact a result of PCOS. Yeah that seems like something antidepressants would fix.

Has a trust issue which is ultimately baffling. Provider seems ok. Seems to have difficulty with follow up care. Provider demeanor appears to be okay. Very baffling.

Peace, I had a wonderful birth at Maimodies hospital I must shout out loud about Dr.Lubin and the extraordinary care and consideration she gave to my client. She was warm and inviting she was open and approachable, she was so very professional without the coldness that can come with hospital environments. I was very very impressed. Over the many experiences and institutions, I have assisted women who look like me to give birth in this was the first time a doctor who looked like me delivered both baby and placenta with a soft tone, patience, gentleness, and such humanity every step of the way. The room had 1 doctor 1 nurse 1 doula 1 father, 1 mom, and 1 baby. What I witnessed is what I want for all moms to experience, it had the vibe of an home birth in that room, This family felt so blessed to have a team like she had to welcome their 1st born into the world into Dr. Lubin's hands. Mom did a great job. Days like this make me proud to be a birth worker even in a time like this.

Dr. Lubin is phenomenal. I had struggled to find and OB that was non-judgmental (bc, family planning, sti, etc.) and was knowledgeable with a good bedside manner. Dr. Lubin is all of that and more. She give great information without alluding to her personal opinion on your choices and answers alllllll questing you may have during an appointment. She is also one of the kindest medical professionals I have had the opportunity to speak with.

I saw Dr. Lubin at her office in Brooklyn. I was a little nervous because I had to switch OBGYNs because of new insurance, but seeing Dr. Lubin put me at ease. She was very well-informed of my medical history and her field of practice, and she answered all of my questions thoroughly. She operates with utmost professionalism and kindness. I'd happily recommend her to any of my friends or family.
