Dr. Sonja Yoo, MD

I saw Dr Yoo a few years back and I'm still absolutely horrified at how she treats patients. I was going to see her as a 38 year old, first pregnancy. She came in to do a pap smear and consult for first time pregnancy and spent about 5 or 6 mins in the room with me. I was so blown away with her lack of care that I couldn't think of anything to say, a few mins later while getting dressed and ready to leave the office, I thought of some questions I had but she couldn't be bothered because my appointment was done. Her staff told me that I could use the portal or make another appointment, I could hear Dr Yoo talking to her staff not far from where we were, so I walked to her and asked my questions, maybe taking another minute or 2 of her very valuable time. That's the first and very last time I ever saw that doctor. I hope for her other patients that I just caught her on an off day, but this was not a good fit for me.

I saw her for my  annual physical.  It was a routine exam.  I asked some questions about my skin, my painful intercourse.  She told me about the prescription that I have before.  I told her it was too expensive. She told me that it might have become cheaper now and prescribed me the same one.  When I went to the pharmacy it was the same price and expensive.  I didn't buy it.  So basically she didn't help me.  Later she charged me for this visit for asking those questions.  It was annual physical and should be free.  Can't I ask any questions at the physical?  Then what is that for? She didn't tell me she would charge me if I asked questions. For a while  ago, she made me come to see her at the office to tell me the test result was fine and charged me.  It could have been done over the phone.  I have never had this greedy doctor like her.

I would absolutely recommended Dr. Yoo. She is compassionate and a great communicator. I totally trust her with my care. She recently performed an endometrial biopsy and hystersocopy. She put me at ease with my fears and did an excellent job.

Pleasant experience. Dr. Yoo was ver knowledgeable and kind.
