Dr. Sonia Rapaport, MD

Dr. Rapaport at first seemed smart, sensitive, informed, insightful - albeit someone who will financially take advantage of people with astronomical, poaching prices. But, I was willing to abide. Thing is, she ultimately treated me horrifically - she prescribed something for me that caused a serious problem, and when I notified her of this, she refused to speak with me about what I was experiencing and could do to repair it, and instead out of the blue sent me a letter telling me I was no longer welcome in her practice. There's not really commentary needed for that conduct - it speaks for itself. I share so you're aware. In a space where care and compassion are hard to come by, I hate to say this but it's true - proceed with caution.

She is a good doctor, but has no qualms about charging outrageous amounts for her time (which is very limited - a three month contract might entitle you to four hours of her time and some limited email communication, at a cost of $10K). There are other equally good doctors out there who do not charge these fees.

Dr. Rapaport is very knowledgeable and she and her staff are very responsive. She was very thorough in diagnosing my conditions and it was helpful to have a clear diagnosis. However her prices are outrageous and she does not take any insurance, even for office visits. She is very knowledgeable and empathetic, but she was at least 45 minutes late for every appointment (which was infuriating given how much she charges). Unfortunately I have not seen significant improvement from any of the various treatments she recommended. While I was desperate to get better after 30 years of illness, working with her was not worth the financial stress of going into significant debt. When I asked for a follow-up appointment after working with her for 8 months with very little improvement, I was told I had to commit to another program for thousands of dollars to receive any follow-up, otherwise I was on my own. I wish I had seen a review like this before I committed to her expensive program.

Dr Rapaport is both knowledgable and caring. She is able to explaining the complexities of my condition in ways that allowed me to understand what my body was asking for and why. Her patience, and completeness in providing information and the supplements that were needed to move me forward could not have been better.

Dr. Rapaport listens to me, watches me--expressions, movements--and ponders (with her teeth on her bottom lip), concentrating. She checks ideas online and suggests support supplements or least invasive medicines and treatments, dosed for me. She can take a simple or complex approach, using time-tried or new techniques. All is explained in paragraphs of her final notes to me.

When I first found Haven Medical, I had been going downhill quickly, wasting away to nothing and no amount of doctors I saw could help - and I had seen a lot! Haven Medical was able to begin to help me find the problems and provide solutions. Although I will suffer with chronic health issues for the remainder of my life, I am in a better place today because of the care I received at Haven Medical.

I started seeing Dr Rapaport a year ago after many years of misdiagnoses and failed treatment attempts. She has done a thorough work up on me and started my treatment, understanding how sensitive I am to treatment. She not only has a good background in my health journey, but she spends a lot of time investing in how I am doing along the way. I love how she gets back to me promptly with her suggestions and treatments. This gives me confidence and makes me feel that precious time is not being wasted until my next appointment with her. The office staff is also super helpful and I have the utmost confidence in their abilities. I am improving every day and am so grateful that I found Dr Rapaport and her team!

I wish she could be my health provider through my life!

Dr. Rapaport gave me hope that I can continue to improve and that I have a quality of life that will allow me to enjoy my life again and hopefully conceive a baby!

Before I met with Dr. Rapaport, my 4 year old was at rock bottom. He had been in severe pain nonstop for almost 2 months, and could barely eat anything at all. Countless trip to the ER, gastroenterologist, pediatricians, and urgent cares resulted in the same line, “we can’t find anything wrong.” Dr. Rapaport not only found out what was wrong, but she enabled my son to heal tremendously in just 6 months. It was close to 8 weeks after starting care with her that my sons pain went away completely. Now, he can eat so much more than he’s ever been able to, and he’s a much happier child. She listens to every single symptom, or even just your intuition about things, and makes sure she addresses them all. We are so thankful we found her, and we don’t know where we’d be right now without her help.

My experience with Dr. Rapaport was excellent. She is caring, brilliant, thorough, and organized. All of these qualities are essential when helping patients who have struggled with illness for years with few answers and little hope. The team she surrounds herself with are also knowledgeable and very kind. I would highly recommend Haven Medical and Dr. Rapaport to anybody looking for better answers and solutions to their chronic illness.

Dr. Sonia has worked with my daughter and myself. My 10 year daughter left the appointment feeling heard, understood and hopeful. My husband and I are so impressed with the thorough listening and Dr. Sonia’s ability to put the puzzle pieces together. Her initial instincts are right on. And the testing confirmed her thoughts. You can feel that she really cares for you and wants you to get better. She takes the time to make sure everything is clear. The office is wonderful to work with. You have access in between appointments for any concern. You feel like you have a hand to hold you along the way.
