Dr. Sivakumar Reddy - Excellent Oncologist!
I so appreciate Dr. Reddy! He has been my doctor since 2013 when I was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He got me into treatment (chemo) quickly and was quietly kind and compassionate. He answered all my questions and always showed concern for how I was feeling. After 6 rounds of chemo I had NED (no evidence of disease) and have been in remission ever since.

Dr. Reddy was extremely impersonal, and short with us with each interaction. He's one of those doctors who gives the bare minimum and nothing more. He made no effort to hide that he was irritated that we dared have any follow-up questions when we saw him. We were made to feel as if we were wasting his time. He offered little guidance on what the patient might expect after the diagnosis. We had to pull any information out of him. People with this personality should not practice medicine, especially with patients who have such serious diagnoses. It was a terrible experience for both the patient or the family. We were extremely disappointed with this doctor's care. Please do not hesitate to ask doctors questions when you first meet them. If they are not a good match for you personally or you instinctively feel something is wrong with them or their level of care, speak up immediately and find a new doctor. Trust your instincts. Not all doctors are good caregivers.

My experience with Dr Reddy was brief. I was told he would refer me to a specialist in the bay area who deals with my type of cancer. After not hearing anything from UCSF I called them. Was told they never got the referral. So of course I called the oncology call center to try and get this matter resolved. I asked for a return call from whomever would be sending the referral to UCSF again. Never got a call back. Called a 2nd time and was told by call center it was done. Today I contacted my insurance to ask about the amount I would have to pay to see this specialist outside of Sutter. Found out Dr Reddy's office never sent my insurance the referral to get approval. Had I seen this specialist without prior approval I would have been responsible for the full cost of the visit. Insurance said they would not pay retroactively. As a person with a new cancer diagnosis it is very upsetting that I am not getting the support I expect from such a top notch facility.

Dr. Reddy is the best! It's not easy going through cancer treatments, especially at a younger age, but he is super SMART, very compassionate, and aggressive in the treatments and follow-up. He takes time at your appointments and answers as many questions as you have. If you're in the unfortunate situation of needing an oncologist, I'd highly recommend Dr. Reddy.

Dr Reddy is an exceptional Oncologist with excellent communication and professional skills! He is a compassionate doctor who always keeps his patients abreast of their medical condition and future healthcare options! I would not be alive today without his aggressive skills in leading me to the correct formula of care he designed for my post cancer treatment. I was honored to have had him as my Oncologist.
