ONLY INTERESTED IN MAKING MONEY
I can't be specific because I feel 'Simon' is extremely vengeful and will 'punish' patients by reducing or cutting off their medicine. I will simply say that after being with Grayson for 15 years, 7 with 'Simon' (even though I've detested his 'powerful' and self-absorbed attitude), he suddenly cut my meds by half, and my alprazolam from 4x day to ONEx day. Geez, I've been in withdrawal, and the thing that sticks with me is that I KNOW he enjoyed me practically begining him not to reduce it that much. I've never 'lost' my medicine, called in for extra, missed appts, 100% clean urines, etc. STAY AWAY, I honestly believe he is a SAAADIST. He began whistling happily while writing out my new, reduced prescription and had a devilish grin as he escorted me out. He then whistled back to his lair. Don't find out if this is a legit review.

I have been going to him for over 20 years at least, I have mixed emotions and feelings. I agree with alot of the other comments. He is all about writing prescriptions and getting people in and out and not really listening to thier problems, but he only does medication. I feel like he is about quantity not quality. I agree, he doesn't really care about his patients. More patients, more money. I always have to wait way after my appointment time out front and then in the second waiting room, then rushed when I do get to see him, I'm literally in with him long enough for him to sign my prescriptions, them out the door. Since Maura left, nothing is the same!!! It has went to h. in a hen basket! I always look and act okay bc I know he doesn't really care or listen anyway and I hate starting over with new doctors so I just take it like it is.i had to ask him to change my medicine four visits before he listened to me and actually did.

Would never recommend this man!
I went to this man because he was closer than my previous one. He was flippent and silly from the first minute. This second and last appointment ever with him he did all the talking and all put pushed me out of his office after 5 minutes so he could take another patient. The only thing he has done for me is write my prescriptions.

I waited over 1.5 hours for an appointment that took under 10 minutes. He prescribed me an antipsychotic that would've worsened an existing medical condition that he was well aware of, therefore putting me in danger. I had already stated to him that under no circumstances would I take another antipsychotic again, but apparently listening isn't a strong suit of his. After I called to say I would no longer be seeing him (kept it polite and said "it's not going to work out"), I was sent a letter stating he would no longer see me due to noncompliance with treatment. That was the intended effect, so I guess he was bored and wanted to write a "no, u!" letter. Don't waste your time; find a psychiatrist who will actually listen and will respect your choices of treatment.

I had an appt with Dr McClure at 2:45, at 3:45 I was still waiting. I was at that time taken back to another waiting room across from his office. After waiting another 15 minutes I went to the reciptionist and let her know that I was leaving, as I had other commitments. I was given the excuse that he had been out of the office and was running behind. his is not the 1st time that he has ran late for appointments, but absolutly the worst.

I urge you all to steer clear of Simon McClure. If you are anything like me and suffer from anxiety and depression, he will only make it worse. He completely lacks compassion and refuses to acknowledge concerns regarding mental health. When feeling uncomfortable or that his medical opinion has been challenged, he resorts to belittling. I have never worked with someone that was so narcissistic, egotistical, and overall rude! He places high priority on getting patients in and out of his office faster than one can exhale and then bills for the entire hour block. In the two sessions I have had with Simon McClure, I have left feeling worse than I did coming in. He laughed off my concerns about very addictive medications and did not offer solutions. Also, he told me to adjust medication and wrote the prescription stating the opposite of what was vocalized. This person has no business having access to any medication involving a person’s mental health recovery.

Dr. McClure had started slipping with my appointments, missing my exact times, letting others go in front of me, etc. Then, one appointment, during the Covid crisis, he completely missed my appointment. When I finally got in touch with him, he literally blamed the secretary. No apology!! I was very disappointed in his behavior, that will go unpunished. He is a pompous jerk that will never treat me again. I would highly discourage anyone from being associated with him.

He is the first doctor that I’ve been to that actually cares and listens to me. He always asked how my medicine was and if I seen changes in my behavior and has anyone noticed. He asks how my home life is I would definitely recommend to anyone whos trying to face their own demons.

In 2015, my mother was diagnosed it Alzheimer/Dementia by UAB Hospital. Dr.McClure is a psychiatrist who treat bipolar, anxiety and depression. My brother and I are at odds about my mother's care. To favor my brother's wrong doing, Dr. McClure wrote a false evaluation stating nothing is wrong with my mother's memory. What doctor does that? My mother is wondering off and community people are finding her confused and disoriented. This is a horrible doctor who doesn't care about my mother's care.

He does NOT care about YOU as a person. Breezes thru notes without listening to your answers, asks questions like reading a script, very poor explanation of why one drug might be more beneficial than another. He's a pill pusher. Every time I leave his office feeling worse, like he never understood or heard anything I just tried to tell him. Would never recommend unless you just need routine maintenance refills.
