Neglectful and Rude
If I could give him negative stars I would. My father was flown to deaconess on a ventilator for having multiple seizures. He was extubated and wouldn’t consistently respond to commands but Dr. Zou wouldn’t listen to my concerns. When I asked why he didn’t order an eeg or mri to make sure he was okay, he told me I don’t trust doctors, that I was trying to take over my fathers care, and then he quit my fathers case. We were flown hours from home for a neurology work up just for this neurologist to do nothing but read the initial head ct from the hospital we came from originally. Additionally, he updated in an encounter note that my father needed to take keppra twice a day but he never actually updated his rx. Our discharge instructions from the hospital didn’t specify how often to take it and this lack of action in his basic roles as an MD resulted in my father being hospitalized for having more seizures. He is rude, egotistical, and doesn’t care about your health.

Communication is very difficult with this doctor. He seems to make up his mind without listening closely to a patient. Saw him three times with what seemed to be different complaints; his diagnosis was Parkinson's with what seemed to be cursory exams. After extensive reading on my part, I found that his prescription didn't fit, and I consulted with another Bronson neurologist, who contradicted the diagnosis, ordered two brain scans, and identified the problem as previous stroke(s)

He is very rude and insensitive. Barely listens at all, Frequently interrupts you and just tells you "it's nothing to worry about". I've left his office crying several times, concerned over my declining mental function due to possible lupus symptoms, and wanting to discuss them with him, and he simply blew me off and refused to even answer my question because I "didn't have a formal diagnosis yet". So apparently severe brain fog and losing your ability to walk aren't concerning enough for him

I waited over 2 months to see Dr. Zao. He spent very little time with me and simply dismissed my concerns with my right hand, pins and tingling sensations as "don't worry about it". My vision problems, which my highly regarded opthalmologist said was neurological in origin, Dr. Zao curtly dismissed and also said it was nothing to worry about. He stated that my opthalmologist was wrong ( my opthalmologist wants me to go to U. of M. to see a neuro-opthalmologist) and going there is not needed.
