Dr. Shruti Trehan, MD

We are grateful to have Doctor Trehan at the Miami, FL Veterans Affairs Medical Center. We are glad to finally have an Oncologist with experience in treating Breast Cancer. She is compassionate, intelligent, kind, experienced, and dependable.

I was assigned Dr. T by the luck of the draw after my family doctor realized my white blood cell count was very high and realized I must have some sort of leukemia. She is brilliant, encouraging and a great communicator! Although my disease turned out to be a very rare disease (primary myelofibrosis), she tracked it down and correctly diagnosed it in a matter of a week. It is a lifetime disease, so I am very glad that I have Dr. T taking care of me.

Dr. Trehan has been my doctor since 20013, when I got breast cancer. She is the most caring, compassionate and professional doctor I've ever had. It doesn't matter how crowded the waiting room is she makes you feel you are her only patient. She takes her time with you and addresses all your questions. She is a true asset to Aultman Hospital and Canton. I am so blessed to have her for an oncologist! God bless you Dr. Trehan!

Dr. Trehan is the most compassionate Physcian I have ever met. She treated my mom for stage 4 bladder cancer. While we lost mom in December our family will forever be grateful for her care. Thank You Dr. Trehan.

Dr. Trehan is a kind, empathetic, intelligent and patient physician. I have had two chemotherapy treatments and have seen Dr. Trehan in her office three times. After a short wait, she made me feel like I was the only patient she had. She is an excellent listener and problem solver. I go into my appointments with many questions and I leave with answers. My husband and daughters have been with me at my office visits and they feel the same. I feel safe and in wonderful hands with Dr, Trehan.

Dr. Trehan is a rare and exceptional person who genuinely cares about her patients. Our daughter was diagnosed as having a Stage IV Neuroblastoma and even though Dr. Trehan had to refer us to a larger cancer center, she still checks in several times a week to ask about our progress. Heard a similar story from a work colleague whose wife is being treated by Dr. Trehan and he had nothing but positive things to say about her. Don't hesitate to work with Dr. Trehan. She is an excellent physician.

Dr. T is a very competent and caring professional. She has been my hematologist/oncologist since 2013. She correctly diagnosed my rare blood cancer - myelofibrosis - and ordered the appropriate tests to evaluate my status. She also encouraged me to go to an MPN specialist and willingly works with him in my care. (Not all hematologists are secure enough to admit that they have limited experience with a rare disease.) She provides my day to day care and consults with the specialist.

I had a lump in my right breast, thankfully it was not cancer but the whole process was very scary. Dr Trehan is such a calm, careful, and thorough doctor. She made the whole process manageable and stress free.

Dr. Trehan is very intelligent and knows a lot! she researches and follows up with her patients. She explains everything and is very open to questions. She will refer to larger university settings to make sure she has the right protocol when needed. She is a team player when consulting with Family practitioners and other oncologists. We need more doctors like her. A five star for sure!
