Do kind and caring
Dr. Makim has been taking care of my son for several years. We have had three acute psychiatric issues and Dr. Makim has called back within 5 minutes and instructed us what to do. Several times my son had to go to the psychiatric hospital. Dr. Makim responds and always knows who my son is, the medications he is on and my son (his history) as a person. Dr. Makim is also very kind and considerate, and importantly he is also always one time. He responded promptly when my son was sleeping all day every day and a drug level showed he was almost toxic on one of his medications. Dr. Makim gave medication instructions immediately by phone, changing amounts and administration times with a promt follow up from front office. Front office staff very kind and considerate. With our struggles, I can only give 5 stars and my sincere gratitide.

I hear and read great reviews about Dr. Makim, the reason why I chose him. I'm sure he is everything people rave about but I won't get that opportunity to see him thanks to his front office staff. I went there to make an appointment and the lady/receptionist (who does not have M.D. following her mame) took it upon herself to diagnose me at the counter, that they could not help me and wrote the name and number of another doctor and told me to leave. As I was telling her that I had a refferal from my PCP, what insurance I had and they gave me Dr. Makims name and temporary medicine I was on. She did not hear ANY of that in fact she kept messing up all the information. It is unfortunate for Dr. Makin because he may be great, but the front office staff is crap. So now I have to start all over again looking for a psychiatrist. When my PCP feels I need to see someone real soon.

Dr. Making is a very knowledgeable physician who takes the time to explain why he is prescribing the treatment he is prescribing. He is patient, honest and has even provided great referrals for the counseling portion of treatment. He has cared for three members of my family and they are better off having been under his care.

I've been seeing Dr. Makim for several years and he is the best psychiatrist I've ever seen. He is very caring and takes the time necessary to listen to concerns. He provides treatment options with pros and cons. I really feel like we make decisions together based on what's best for me. He is now seeing 2 of my children as well and I'm very happy with the care they are receiving. Dr. Makim has been a blessing in my family's life and I'm grateful for his care.
