Dr. Shishir Sharma, MD

In Sept 2024, I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and Type II Diabetes due to 680 glucose. I had never had either of these diagnoses before. I had just changed my primary care doctor and could not see her until the middle of Dec.I was treated for the diabetes by the hospital clinic nurse practitioner. However, my heart was constantly racing due to the untreated hyperthyroidism. I lost 25 pounds and became out of breath and weak.A neighbor referred me to Dr. Sharma because he said he was a very good doctor. I called Dr. Sharma's office, explained my dire situation, and was given an appointment the next week.Dr. Sharma changed my blood pressure medicine and placed a heart monitor on me for 2 weeks to see if I had any heart damage. Within 24 hours of taking the new medicine, my heart returned to normal.I truly believe that I would have had a stroke or heart attack if I hadn't seen Dr. Sharma. He saved my life. It is so hard to find a new doctor that cares and promptly see you.

Dr Sharma is extremely knowledgeable and efficient. He has always been on time and takes into consideration any financial ramifications of the treatment he suggests. This man helped save my life when I needed open heart surgery. You won't regret seeing him!

Dr. Sharma goes above and beyond what I have seen in 90% of doctors. For example, when I sent him lab results from another doctor, he did not wait for my appointment; something in my cover letter had caught his eye, and he ordered tests. You cannot go wrong with Dr. Sharma.

Very thorough on each follow up visit. Listens well to my concerns and addresses each as they arise. Would recommend Dr Sharma to anyone seeking a qualified cardiologist.

After having many doctors over many years, I now use Dr Sharma as my gold standard. He doesn’t just look for or give you the “easy” answer. He digs deeper and looks for symptoms and test results that if overlooked could have caused me a lot more serious issues. As a result, I have both a short term and a long term plan to minimize future deterioration of my heart due to my cardiomyopathy. He’s eased my mind and I’m confident in his diagnosis and treatment. I wish I had met him earlier in my life. I could have avoided some scary moments and issues. Thanks for what you do!

I met Dr Sharma at Arlington Memorial after a “cardiac event”. I wasn’t expecting to meet a cardiologist at the hospital that I would like and had been trying to get in touch with my mother’s cardiologist to get an appointment, but when I met Dr. Sharma, I was so impressed with his professionalism and knowledge. Most refreshingly though is that Dr. Sharma clearly cares about his patients and takes all symptoms seriously. After talking to him for about 10 minutes, I knew he was my doctor. I’ve been so pleased ever since with every interaction I’ve had with him. He’s an exceptional doctor. One of those who was meant to be a doctor because he cares about people not one of those doctors who is only concerned about their ego. I can’t recommend him enough.

Met Dr Sharma @ Arlington Memorial after my father had a heart attack. Could not have been happier with him. Being in the medical field for 25yrs and dealing with my fair share of Drs it’s so refreshing to know that there are still a few Drs out there that still care about their patients and take the time to actually talk to them and explain in detail of what is going on.
