Dr. Shirley Ju, MD

She did not listen to my concerns and was very condescending towards me. I used to receive injections for my migraine for 3 years with a different Dr. and was working perfectly for me but she decided to not continue with that treatment and prescribed unnecessary medications just to see how my body would react to them! I am on many medications and told her I would like to add no more to my list but she ignored my concerns. I would not recommend her since she does not take any opinions from her patients.

Dr Ju is a great Dr. she cares about her patients. She takes time to listen to gour concerns and trys her best to help you!! Migraines r no joke and she has helped me!!

Dr. Ju is fantastic! I’ve been to several doctors for my headaches, and she’s the first who actually made a difference. She was extremely thorough and her approach to finding the right balance of medication has finally given me relief without feeling like I’m just masking the problem. I've had migraines for years and tried everything. Dr. Ju took the time to really understand my concerns and made suggestions that I'd never considered. Turns out, a few changes in diet and sleep, along with the meds she prescribed, have cut my headache days in half. She really listens and cares, which is so rare these days.

I never leave reviews, but I felt this was important. I waited months for this appointment. She did not listen to me at all. I just gave up because I felt so frustrated trying to talk to her. I left with a diagnoses I didn’t agree with and meds I didn’t need. She was so condescending towards me I didn’t want to waste my energy when she was set on one way. I felt so unheard. She did not do any testing for any of my concerns and sent me on my way without a single care. Very unprofessional. I heard she is going somewhere else and I hope she gains professionalism there. Or perhaps change her attitude. She needs a personality exam.

Dr. Ju is very thorough with her visits but also fast. She asks questions, maintains her end goal (which may be getting a 'facial' over with fastly and effectively,) she has always helped me when I needed to do a TeleHealth call or a quick in person appointment. She always is keen to answer questions, no matter how silly you think they are - I have asked a lot of questions to her and she is very patient. She is very compassionate about her work, you can tell.

She was my second neurologist I had and I am so sad she’s leaving the hospital she worked for while I had her as my doctor. She was so helpful in helping me get my severe chronic migraines under control. She tried many different medications before finding out that the 3mo shots worked for me. She would always listen to my questions and concerns and explain everything I’m great detail so I could clearly understand. I would highly recommend her to anyone who suffers with any kind of migraine!

Dr ju is a very compassionate caring physician that has gotten my chronic migraines under control by adding migraine injections to my medications.

She is very professional with a kind demeanor. She is also incredibly knowledgeable! Thanks to her my quality of life has improved drastically. I went from years of multiple migraines a month (sometimes multiple a week) to barely 1 month. I am working out now, losing weight, and enjoying life a lot more.

Headaches. She said I had migraines. I asked how she knew. She said, "It is." Never, after 4 tries, got medication called in. Found out from my Urologist they were sending it a 2-year-closed pharmacy I have never used. Told her I am not good at taking meds. Gave me a diagnosis of "Over use of medication." I called to get it removed from my record, it is still there. SHE called me back and told me I said I took too much medicine. I said...I've tried a lot of medicine. I've had headaches over 15 years!

Very professional, kind, clear at explaining potential treatment options and managing expectations regarding outcomes. I’ll update my review after a handful of follow up visits on how things are going with my terrible migraine. It’s great to have a Yale-graduate headache specialist available locally!
