Dr. Sheila Valentin-Nogueras, MD

One can't question her expertise and training. What I do question is her attitude and behavior. Her lack of empathy towards a patient in pain is truly lamentable. In my situation, I was just reserved and shy during my visits, which is my reaction when I am truly concerned (like a visit to a dermatologist who treats skin cancer.) Then, an empathic physician should be aware that every patient is different and requires targeted treatment (physical and emotional.) She may be the best-trained dermatologist in Puerto Rico, but that's not a license for her bad manners.

I had two procedures which entailed three office visits apiece. Through waiting time on first visit I observed the design of the office which I thought exceptional. On the second visit I observed the staff, all pleasant and all in step as if orchestrated. I realized after talking with the doctor that all of this was her creation. The doctor answered all of my questions, those pertaining to and those not pertaining to the process of the operation. Through conversation with the doctor, even during the operation, I sensed the doctor's utmost possession of positivity. I would highly recommend Dra. Valentin to anyone looking for exceptional professionalism

DID NOT EVEN TAKE THE TIME TO SEE WHAT I HAD ON MY ARMS, DID NOT EVEN GIVEA PRESCRIPTION OR A CREAM, ALL SHE RESPONDED WAS IN THE NEGATIVE, BAD ATTITUDE, IF YOU DON'T HAVE TOLERANCE DON'T BOTHER IN GETTING AN APPOINTMENT...YOU WILL BE PIST OFF.

The staff was nice, but doctor was intolerant and had no patience when I I ask questions she stated that she had already answers the question. This doctor should know that patients are paying for this service and this is not a favor to be treated with such a bad attitude. I will never attend this office again!

Dr. Valentin is a certified Mohs Surgeon which means she is a dermatologist-pathologist and a plastic surgeon, all combined into one subspecialty. She did her Mohs Residency under Drs. Zitelli and Brodland in Pittsburgh, PA. She is the author of several medical journal articles and is doing constant research in dermatology. She has excellent surgical skills which combined with her affable personality makes her one of the leaders in her field, not only in Puerto Rico but also in the US.
