Just had my first visit with Dr. Sheikh. I cannot recommend him enough. Very thoughtful and intelligent. I have been seeing GIs since I was in second grade, and I was completely blown away by his expertise.

I was referred to Dr. Sheikh by another physician who trusted in Dr. Sheikh's training. Dr. Sheikh was impatient and quick to brush off certain details. He did take some time to sit down with me and briefly answer questions about my colitis. Unfortunately, his answers to my questions were insufficient and, at times, irrelevant. I am confident in his knowledge and expertise, but left feeling fairly dissatisfied with the information I had received.

Dr. Sheikh saved my life... literally. I would not trade Dr. Sheikh and his staff for any other team. He is kind and really cares about his patients. If it weren't for him I would have permanent tubes draining my butt, and would have had to go through exploratory rectal surgery. Because of my location there were no better alternatives so I chose to drive 2 hours away to see someone else and fortunately got Dr. Sheikh. UNC is fortunate to have great doctors like Dr. Sheikh.
