'Dysphoric and Quite Argumentative' her words
Definitely, DO NOT recommend this DoctorHer after visit vituperative words were NOT pleasant to read, considering I am the patient who is suffering physically and mentally. Infact her follow-up notes, mentions, patient is dysphoric and quite argumentative, in her notes. WOW. Spoke to the Novant Ballantyne Office Manager about this incident. She recommended changing my PCP within Novant Ballantyne-lack of attention to detail -no plan of action for patients well-being, short-term or long-term-highly disconnected with a patient's pain and suffering. -lack of patient empathy, -highly abrasive and combative in her approach and speech. -highly non-collaborative service, her word vs your word ; that it and thats that, dictatorial?-lack of 360 patient awareness, patient care.

Unprofessional
I had a physical exam with Dr.Arain a couple of years ago. I haven't been back since, nor have I had any interaction with this office (I know, I should be going more frequently). I booked an appointment but unexpectedly had to cancel it when my father passed away suddenly. (To be fair, I canceled as soon as I could but it may have been the morning of the appointment). I rescheduled my appointment. Then a week before the next appointment, I received a letter from Dr.Arain saying Ballantyne Novant Medical Group will no longer provide care because they 'disagree with me on how best to care for me' signed by Dr. Arain. If she had too many patients, a phone call would have been nice.

Rude from the Beginning
I visited Dr. Arain requesting the assessment of a medical issue. She immediately was rude and dismissive of my injury making comments suggesting that it didn't exist. She then tried to prescribe me a medication that I told her I did not want or need. She prescribed it anyway. What was memorable about our brief visit was her lack of understanding of my concerns and immediate desire to write prescriptions. I have since sought out other medical opinions and other treatments.

she can handle complex medical conditions
I am a patient of Dr. Arain with Novant Health. I did my research and wanted a doctor that can make an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan, the first time. She is thorough and gets straight to the point. A year later, I am movingly my elderly mother with multiple serious health issues to Charlotte, NC. I had no hesitation with entrusting my mother's complex care to Dr. Arain. She knew exactly where to start to get a handle on my mother's deteriorating health, finding yet another issue that her previous physicians at a prestigious healthcare facility up north missed completely. I have been pleased with the MyChart patient portal mode of communication. This is a very efficient and is easy way for my siblings to log onto if they wish to see mom's progress. Dr. Arain is prompt in responding to my messages, sometimes within 2 hours. I could go on but just know that as an "educated consumer", I highly recommend Dr. Arain and the entire staff at Novant Health Ballantyne Medical Group.

What I saw at my visit Dr Arain is very educated and experienced , I don't know why reviews are so low and sort of hateful? Is this because of her ethnicity? She is professional and she have double education from two different continents and it means she know and she saw and practice way more than just locally educated and practiced doctors..

I was experiencing symptoms of swelling, abdominal pain, debilitating menstruation symptoms, etc. I was so upset when I went in because I was in pain and had been in bed for 4 days, she took one look at me and told me I must be depressed and anxious because I was visibly crying.. She disregarded me. Went elsewhere and they identified me with a classic textbook case of PCOS and thyroid problems. Dear Dr Arain- when people come to a doctors appointment, they do not feel well. That is why they are there. If they cry or are upset it is likely because they do not feel well. It is completely counter intuitive for you to lecture them, show no empathy, and act like patients are an inconvenience to your day. We are there in fact, because we do not feel well. We are seek guidance and help because of that. Shame on you for having no empathy for people and having a closed mind and not seeking wellness for patients. That is the entire oath you take as a medical provider.

The most unprofessional, uncaring, useless doctor I have ever been to in my life. Save your time, she doesn’t care about whatever issue it is you have, she only cares that you take your meds. ????

Dr. Shazia Arain is the worst dr ever. Carolyn F. Craig office supervisor and Dwayne Hickman administrator terrible. My husband saw this doctor and she took no ownership of his medical care. She didn’t know and couldn’t pin point what was going on with him. He needed FMLA papers filled out and she refused with no explanation as to why. When asked she hid, she didn’t even have the decency to speak with us. The supervisor and administrator never returned our calls wouldn’t recommend this dr at all

The doctor could not be bothered to read test results from a CT scan done on a Monday and call with results. On Wednesday the patient called in and was told she would call them by the end of the day. Thursday , the patient calls again, and is told The doctor is off today and will be in Tomorrow. The CT scan was done due to a possible Mini Stroke, and the patient is 84 years old. This doctor is inconsiderate and these actions are unacceptable. I cannot recommend First Care to anyone.

This Dr is awful. I have copies of my notes, and am horrified to see she said I EXAGGERATED at one of my appointments. That's after she pretty much punched me in the stomach on a visit a few months back. The staff here at First Care are rude, unhelpful and couldn't care less if you are seen, given the wrong information or leave as you've waited so long. On one appt a few weeks back I was there for a total of 4 hours, another we left after an hour and a half. When asked why I shook my head..
