I recently had a colonoscopy at the Prescott hospital and Dr. Alam was my doctor. Super informative, explained the procedure clearly, found him to be very professional and a friendly bedside manner,

Prep Chemicals were inefective
Unsuccessful Colonoscopy The chemicals were not at all effective. Of course that's the patient's fault...certainly not the doctor's or the drug company which subsidizes the 'doctor'. This was not my first colonoscopy. I know what the drugs SHOULD DO. The prep was ineffective.

Followup to review 29 Feb, 24
I really appreciate the office manager calling and explaining why one of the medications was prescribed, after asking she call. I still do not agree that should have been done without speaking directly with the patient, as one of the side effects could actually cause one of the major issues Already suffering from. It's a bit like throwing darts. Typically, symptoms would clear after 3 days, and we are told if they don't contact and see your doctor.

Unbelievable Appointment with Dr Alam.
I had a very important appointment with Prescott Gastroenterology that would have re-connected me with the VA so I could get the benefits I deserve which is free medicine and Healthcare. This appointment was set-up by the Phoenix VA's Director and the Phoenix VA GI Department. I am a 100 Percent Disabled Veteran, Service Connected, twenty four year liver transplant with the highest Disability Rating the VA gives. As a Navy Marine Hospital Corpsman I caught Hep-c which destroyed my liver. All I needed was for their doctor to re-write my prescriptions and he is the first doctor, nurse practitioner, or physicians assistant to REFUSE to write my prescriptions and he failed to give me a valid reason. His failure to do his job has cost me about 6 months to set-up and now I am still not connected with the VA who paid for this visit. Since he is foreigner I guess the Vietnam War and its veterans mean nothing to him. I will never see this so called doctor again.

Very professional! Dr. Alam has performed significant procedures on me several times. I will return to him, as required. I highly recommend him. I was surprised to read a few negative comments about this very good doctor. FYI, I've had over 40-50 major and minor surgeries. Thus, I've learned enough about medicine to know how to "rate" a doctor. The fact I will return to him should mean something. Thomas (Tom) Michael Rutherford, Sr. (Prescott, AZ) 29 Sep 2021

He cares more about how many patients he can see so he can make more money than the quality of care for his patients. Because...on discharge papers he wanted to see my mom 2 weeks after an emergency procedure. They can't see her until almost 3 months later for a follow up appointment. My mom was having side affects to the medications she was put on, it took 4 days for the office to call back. 4 days! And he still wants her to take the medication.

Dr. Alam performed two procedures, upper and lower GI, on me. Although we were on schedule his pre visit seemed rushed and made me feel I was imposing. A letter from him following the procedures explained only the outcome of one procedure. It took 3 days trying to reach the office by phone to talk to someone about the missing information. The receptionist promised I would hear from the doctor about the procedure but a month later no contact and no information.

All of the Doctors in the practice are really good & were highly recommended. Dr. Alam was attentive, explained everything and asked if we had questions. The down side, and this is not Dr. Alam's fault, the overall office is extremely busy, phones are hard to get through on. It has taken 22, or more, calls to get through at times. Appointments are months in advance, call back take days. Prescott does have a challenge when it comes to the number of quality Doctors but Dr. Alam is a QUALITY DR!
