I was referred to Dr. Shawn P. Todd because my dr moved. Dr. Todd recommended a Eurolift procedure because I was waking up 3-4 x a night to urinate. I had the procedure & could not urinate at all afterwards. The next day I ended up in the ER (Saturday-he was on call and refused to come) ER inserted a Foley catheter. Over the next 2 months, I had numerous Foley catheters & also self catheterized 6-8 X daily. Dr. Todd continually blamed my bladder & wanted to surgically insert a port to urinate out of until he said “my bladder healed”. I refused & went for two other opinions. Both other opinions said I was not a candidate for the Eurolift procedure & needed yet an additional surgery to correct Dr. Todd’s procedure which caused a fish mouth effect & stopped the flow of urine completely rather than opening it up. I had the corrective surgery & was able to urinate on my own the next day. I would never recommend Dr. Todd for any procedure. 20k OOP & he refused reimbursement.

Disappointed
Dr. Todd immediately started ordering tests that I had just brought to him. Wait time is wayyyy too long. I know he may be trying to help with patients from another doctor but if you can’t service them all then don’t take them. It’s ok to say NO when you don’t have enough time to take care of your established patients. Bills excessively for in office services but doesn’t tell the patient they will be getting bills from other places. All done in the office. When you don’t agree with what he wants to do then he says ok well you can just come back if you need to or want to. It’s your body!! Get those second opinions!! Overall he just seems to rush in and suggest a procedure and gone. Money hungry!

Dr. Todd is a great, caring, informed and communicates easily and thoroughly. I see Dr. Todd for Biote. Testosterone replacement and Thyroid therapy. I imagine four days a week he is involved as a Urologist. He only is open on Friday till noon. This is his pelleting insertion with Biote. His waiting room appears to be booked on every 10 to 15 minute increments per patient. However, this procedure or per patient office visit takes 20 to 25 minutes. His overbooking on Fridays appointment has someone like myself in September at 10:00 appointment (I was 20 minutes late so I understood my part) I wasn't called into the office until 12:15, the last appointment of the day. This past Friday(4/9/21) I was 18 minutes early for a 10:30 appointment. They were still calling people in when I got up and told the staff I could not wait any longer at 11:30. I told staff to say, "You'll wait as long as we want until we're ready." I could understand and accept that.

He has an easy manner. He is informative without overwhelming the patient. He is both quick and efficient with evasive procedures. I am grateful that he is able to make a very uncomfortable situation almost painless.
