Dr. Sharon Mitchell, MD

I was assigned this office back in 2024. I called for a New patient appointment and was told there were none for the remainder of the year.. And to call back in Jan 2025. Being that I am regularly healthy and not in dire need, I accepted that. I called back and was told Dr. Mitchell was no longer accepting new patients and when I attempted to explain why I had no appointments on file, I was hung up on by the receptionist. Very unprofessional. The front office is a representation of the back office. Glad I am changing my PCP, after this encounter.

I have been going to Dr. Mitchell for over twenty years. I think she is a wonderful doctor. Dr. Mitchell takes her time with me even when they (Cape Fear Valley only allows a doctor 15 minutes per person. She take her time with me and listen.

Dr. Mitchell was overall friendly, but she was inattentive and rushed the appointment. She didn't seem to care to fully understand what my issue was, just wanted to get me out of there. When I got home I checked the appointment records on MyChart and in the notes there were multiple mistakes and just inaccurate information about my health history. Since then (its been several months) I have tried to get in contact with her several times to fix this without success. I'm NEVER one to leave a bad review, but this was an overall bad experience and I hope that other patients have a better experience than I did.

I was a relatively new patient to Dr. Mitchell. My first appointment went well; Dr. Mitchell was friendly and attentive. I was excited to have established care with a new physician after moving to the Fayetteville area. Upon leaving my first appointment, I scheduled another appointment for a full physical with the front office staff. I confirmed this second appointment several days prior. I arrived 10 minutes early and signed in. I was then told that my appointment would have to be rescheduled due to time constraints and double booking. The next available appointment was nearly 1.5 months later. I understand that mistakes happen but Dr. Mitchell and her office staff should have the courtesy to notify patients of scheduling changes prior to them arriving for their appointments. I feel that this office is either extremely disorganized or completely unconcerned about their patients. For this reason, I will not be returning as a patient and I would not recommend this office to anyone.

Dr. Mitchell is always professional, thorough and caring.
