This past fall I developed UC postpartum and spent over a month in the hospital. During my stay GI tried meds but they didn't work. Dr. Shakamuri checked in with me daily to get to know me and my case. I eventually needed surgery to remove my colon. He did an amazing job with the surgery and putting up with me while I was in a horrible headspace from being in the hospital so long. This past weekend we made my ileostomy permanent and he did a great job again with the surgery. He has great bedside manner, is very personable and very knowledgeable. I wouldn't have wanted to go through this experience with any other doctor.

I Waited over 1:10 for my appt. He spent 15 mins w me (including the exam). At first, he listened and took many notes. Then in the end I felt like he just blew me off with no concern about the pain. Although there are multiple(8) hemorrhoids, he indicated they were not contributing to my issue, nor did they need to be removed. WHY leave them? Wait until they become a greater risk? Leaving me to suffer with this constant discomfort. They haven’t gone away in 9 weeks so one would think they required some medical attention. As with all new patients, he recommended a colonoscopy. Great. So I waited all that time, spent the co-pay & left with no recommendations other than what I am already doing(which hasn’t worked)Furthermore, he indicated his assistant would call me to schedule the test. Well that was 10 days ago and I have yet to hear from her. Good thing I am not in pain(yea right). Did we really see the same doctor?
