I love Dr. Philander, she is very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I highly recommend! Her CMA is also very responsive to messages and very friendly. Always a positive experience.

Dr Philander has great 'bedside manner'. She listens to concerns, involved me in my care, and referred me appropriately when I needed a specialist. She is nice, calm, and attentive. Definitely 5 stars!

I felt Dr. Philander listens and takes appropriate action concerning my medical concerns. She is reliable and dedicated...even calling me at 8 pm to give me news that I needed to take immediate action on.

Dr. Philander is wonderful and it's unfortunate that disgruntled patients are far more likely to write reviews than satisfied ones. She's always been very patient, good at listening, and provides easy to understand, actionable medical information. I would recommend her.

Provider is distant. Doesn’t respond to patient concerns or messages post visit m. Medical assistant seems poorly educated and has inflated sense of self and abilities. Patient unable to establish rapport with physician because Dr. Philander NEVER responds to patient inquiries. Doesn’t collaborate with patient on health journey. AVOID!!!

When my wife came Dr. Philander for her yearly physical, the physician she saw was dishonest in billing. The bill stated that we were billed for an "New Patient Annual Wellness Visit" (which was completely covered by insurance), but the doctor also billed for an "Established Patient Visit 30-40 Min", which was $701. Keep in mind that my wife and I had just moved to the area and this was her first time ever stepping foot into a Northwestern Medicine building. The whole appointment was less than 15 minutes so we do not understand how this happened. We appealed several times with Northwestern and even appealed through our insurance. Northwestern has assured us they did nothing wrong and this is standard practice. This type of dishonesty is not what we expected. Fortunately, Chicago has plenty of options for healthcare. I was hesitant to see Dr P after reading the bad reviews, but she was the only Dr who could see me fast. She was kind, thorough, and made me confident that I received excellent care. A+ experience. If I ever can't get in with my primary Dr, I'll definitely return to Dr P

I had a horrible experience with this “doctor.” She completely dismissed my symptoms of chest discomfort despite having gone to the ER a few days ago. She was going to order some testing them abruplty deciding not to. She walked in with an attitude of not wanting to deal anything. This person should not be trusted. I don’t know what is going on with the lack of empathetic people as doctors.

Not impressed. She was very focused on reading and recommending what the computer told her to. And then changing her mind when she realized recommendation was wrong. This was a first visit and there was no meaningful discussion of my medical history. Exam was listening to my heart only and she ordered different blood tests than I’m used to. Not saying that’s a problem per se but we should have discussed it. My search for a new PCP continues.
